Maya Jama breaks silence about future on ITV's Love Island

Series three of Love Island: All Stars launched on ITV on Thursday (January 15) night.

The new series, hosted by Jama, was supposed to begin on Monday (January 12) but was delayed due to wildfires near where the show is being filmed in South Africa.

The wildfires resulted in the villa being evacuated and filming postponed.

But new Love Island: All Stars is now underway, featuring former Islanders, including Jack Keating (series 8), Jess Harding (series 10), and Belle Hassan (series 5).

Maya Jama speaks about her future on Love Island

This will be Jama’s seventh season of Love Island, having first joined the franchise back in 2023.

During her time in the franchise, she has hosted the normal UK version of Love Island, as well as several spin-offs, including All Stars and Games.

But Jama revealed last year that she had landed a role on one of her “favourite” Netflix series – The Gentlemen.

Netflix has confirmed she will appear in season two of the popular Guy Ritchie series, alongside the likes of Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Hugh Bonneville, and Daniel Ings.

Filming for season two of The Gentlemen is underway, but a release date has yet to be revealed.

Jama has already stepped down as the host of Love Island: Games, replaced by Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix in season two.

But Jama, who is also a panellist on ITV’s The Masked Singer, has said she won’t be leaving the UK versions of Love Island just yet.

When questioned about how long she sees herself as the host of Love Island, in a recent interview with Variety, she said: “I don’t know, but I have no plans to leave yet.

“Before I started Love Island, I would say you can get what you need out of a show in two years, and then you move on.

“That was always kind of what I had in the back of my mind.

“But with a show like Love Island, it just feels like it keeps growing and I’d be silly to leave now.

“It’s not my whole life and it’s fun, so I think as long as I enjoy it, I’ll keep it up.”

You can catch Maya Jama as host of Love Island: All Stars each night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, or on The Masked Singer on Saturdays at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
