Mason Mount was visibly devastated after being forced to come off during Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday due to injury.
The England international has been plagued by problems ever since moving to Old Trafford back in the summer of 2023.
And Mount has now been forced out of the match at the Etihad Stadium, in yet another blow for the 25-year-old.
The midfielder slumped to the turf at the Etihad and looked dejected, with Kobbie Mainoo then brought on as his replacement.

Leon Osman, commentating for BBC Radio 5 Live, expressed a belief that Mount was ‘pretty gutted’ by the blow.
“The look on Mason Mount’s face says it all. He’s pretty gutted. It’s exactly what he didn’t want,” he said.
“He was given the opportunity by Ruben Amorim and would have wanted a run of games. It’s frustrating for him.
“Almost all of the Manchester United players went to him and gave him a hug. They are all disappointed.”
Mount was picked from the start for United on a day where Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have been left out of the squad.
Ruben Amorim has rolled the dice, with the 39-year-old hopeful his tinkering will pay off.
And he explained his decision before kick-off, insisting it was a tactical one and that he was satisfied by the pair’s training levels.
“We try to evaluate everything training performance, game performances, engagement with team-mates, push their team-mates up,” he said.

“Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players. It is my selection. Simple.
“I don’t want to send a message it is simply an evaluation and they know it.
“The players are really, really smart. Everybody understands my decision and I have to choose. It is simple selection.
“Of course the context is difficult because we have to win games and we have a difficult situation now.

“I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put your clothes to go to a game. Everything. I make my evaluation and then I decide.
“There is a communication after the last training. They are alright. They had training this morning and I was there. They trained really well.”
United lost 4-1 to City in the same fixture last season.
But Pep Guardiola’s side are different these days, having lost seven of their last 10 matches across all competitions.
