Missing Scots teen girls may have travelled 30 miles from home as cops launch desperate search

The girls, aged 15 and 17, have been missing for over 24 hours and police are now issuing a public appeal.

Two teenage girls who have been reported missing may have travelled more than 30 miles away from home. Naomi Doran, 17, and Aimee Ivatt, 15, were last seen in the Alexandria area around 9.30pm on Friday, January 16.

Officers believe they are together and may have travelled from the West Dunbartonshire town, near Dumbarton, to Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. They also have links to the Paisley area.

A desperate search has been launched following their disappearance, with the force asking for the public’s help in getting to the bottom of where they are.

Naomi is described as around 5ft 2 in height, of medium build with long brown hair. When last seen, she was wearing a white/grey hooded jumper and blue jeans.

Aimee is described as around 5ft 2 in height, of medium build with long red/auburn hair. When last seen, she was wearing a black body warmer, and possibly a black puffer jacket and blue ripped jeans.

Inspector Ross Mooney said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Naomi and Aimee’s welfare and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace them.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen them or who has any information on their whereabouts to please contact us as soon as possible.”
