Fiorentina pay tribute to President Commisso in first game since his death at age 76
Fiorentina paid tribute to President Rocco Commisso with special shirts during the warm-up, then Rolando Mandragora dedicated the opening goal against Bologna with a beautiful gesture.
This afternoon’s Serie A match at the Stadio Dall’Ara went ahead, despite news yesterday morning that President Commisso had died at the age of 76.
The Italian-American business magnate had been ill for some time, and his family confirmed he wanted the team to carry on as normal.
Commisso remembered by Fiorentina players

Fiorentina players wore special shirts in his honour during the warm-up, with ‘1 Rocco’ on the back, and ‘Grazie Rocco’ on the front.
When Mandragora opened the scoring against Bologna, he ran to the touchline and held up a Fiorentina jersey with Commisso’s name, kissing it and sending a message down the television camera.

There is also a minute’s silence before every Serie A game this weekend for the figure who was President of the club from June 2019.
His right-hand man in running Fiorentina, director general Joe Barone, died of a heart attack in March 2024.
