The Belfast icon needs your help this May.
Boxing legend Ryan Burnett will be running the Belfast City Marathon this May in memory of the late, great Ricky Hatton.
‘The Hitman’ tragically passed away in September, leaving the entire boxing world in mourning. After an inquest, it was confirmed that Hatton had died by hanging.
In memory of the legendary Mancunian boxer, Belfast native Burnett, who is a former world bantamweight boxing champion, will be running the Belfast Marathon while pushing a weight of 63.5kg – the weight Hatton won his World title at.
“I need your help. In memory of @rickyhitmanhatton I’ll be running Belfast marathon May 3rd while pushing 63.5kg, the weight of Ricky when he won his 1st world title,” begins a social media post by Burnett confirming his plans.
“Until then I’ll be doing my best to raise money and awareness for @rickyhattonfoundation and @t.a.m.h.i.ni
