Young and the Restlessspoilers for next week dive into Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn)’s outrage and a shocker with Ian Ward (Ray Wise), plus Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks)’s fear as her wife’s crimes come to light and the cops go chasing her down.
Young and the Restless Next Week: Billy Visits Cane
Let’s start with Cane Ashby. At the end of this week, he gets a visit from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who’s worried about Jill Abbott (Jess Walton)’s failing heart. That’s when Cane Ashby told Billy Abbott that the contracts are being written for him to take control of Chancellor. As of now, it looks like Cane Ashby and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) have the bulk of Newman Enterprises under their control. It’s official.
What’s wild to me in this is how Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and the others are all playing victim and acting like they did something unprecedented and awful when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) literally did this exact same thing to Cane Ashby six weeks ago. This is a page straight from The Mustache’s playbook. Victor Newman had a huge butt-kicking coming from Karma. And the things he’s done to Phyllis Summers are absolutely disgusting.
I know she’s unhinged. But in a way, I think he is a big part of the reason she is. Victor Newman put a stranger in her bed. A lot of soap fans call that flat-out having Phyllis Summers raped. So maybe some people feel bad for Victor Newman; I don’t. Plus, I’m certain that he’s going to bounce back just fine and rebuild his company stronger and better than ever. Victor Newman will come out of this fine.

Cane Ashby and Billy Abbott Conflict Over Chancellor’s Future on Young and the Restless
For now, though, Cane Ashby is in control and things are going great for them. He’s a little upset to hear from Billy Abbott that Jill Abbott’s heart is getting weaker and that she can barely breathe. Billy Abbott also tells Cane Ashby that he doesn’t want him to tell Jill Abbott what’s going on with Newman Enterprises and Chancellor because that will upset her and it could worsen her health situation.
Cane Ashby and Billy Abbott debate how Jill Abbott would react to what Cane Ashby has done. In the end, Billy Abbott asks Cane Ashby to hold off on the press release that reveals Billy Abbott as the new CEO of Chancellor. Cane Ashby agrees to go ahead and hold back on that. They talk about how Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has issues with Billy Abbott taking Chancellor from him.
Then Cane Ashby talks about dealing with him and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and that’s over and done. And he should have known better than to even try to make it happen. When Billy Abbott jokes that Cane Ashby won’t be alone because he’ll have Phyllis Summers, Cane Ashby makes it clear that is not love. That’s sex and business, but not affection.
Lily Winters and the Twins Go Missing in a Dangerous Game
Things take a huge turn next week regarding Lily Winters and Cane Ashby because he gets word that Lily Winters and the twins are missing. Cane Ashby goes and confronts Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about it. And Cane Ashby is accusing Adam Newman of knowing that Victor Newman took Lily Winters and the twins. But Adam Newman claps back that he is not his father’s keeper.
Cane Ashby says that Adam Newman and Victor Newman are playing some sort of sick game. We know that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott)’s okay with Victor Newman doing this. But I kind of suspect that Victor Newman and Adam Newman don’t really kidnap Lily Winters and the twins. I think that Victor Newman might have talked Lily Winters into playing along and pretending to be kidnapped in hopes that it’ll get Cane Ashby to stop what he’s doing.
Young and the Restless: Cane Rages
Cane Ashby is angry that his family has been threatened in this way. But even if Cane Ashby stops the AI from attacking Victor Newman’s company, it’s pretty much a done deal. I could see Phyllis Summers finding a way to keep things going even if Cane Ashby wants to take a step back because of this. Bottom line, Phyllis Summers isn’t going to be sympathetic at all about Lily Winters being supposedly snatched. And she may even tell Cane Ashby that this is Victor Newman bluffing.
Mariah Copeland Snatches Dominic Chancellor Amidst a Mental Health Spiral
Now let’s talk about Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). At the end of this week, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) are frantic because Dominic Chancellor (River & Rainn Ware) has been missing overnight. When Devon Hamilton and Abby Newman check the surveillance camera, they notice that Dominic Chancellor wasn’t afraid of the person that took him. They can’t see that person. But they know that he’s not scared.
Devon Hamilton and Abby Newman think it’s someone they know. Then at Crimson Lights, they run into Tessa Porter and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). We’ll see Abby Newman and Devon Hamilton tell them that Dominic Chancellor was taken. And they show them the scarf that was dropped outside the house. Tessa Porter is immediately horrified.
She knows that scarf belongs to Mariah Copeland. It’s a custom-made, one-of-a-kind piece that Tessa Porter got for Mariah Copeland a couple of years ago. There’s no doubt in her mind. That leaves Devon Hamilton wondering why Mariah would take their son, Dominic Chancellor. Abby Newman tries to call Mariah Copeland. But of course, she doesn’t answer.
Tessa Porter explains to Abby Newman and Devon Hamilton that Mariah Copeland has been in this spiral for a while, checked herself out of a mental health facility in Boston. And has basically disappeared. They wonder if there’s some other way that would explain Mariah Copeland’s scarf being there. But Abby Newman thinks it’s quite clear that Mariah Copeland did this and took Dominic Chancellor.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Ashby – Ian Ward
Police Search for Mariah Copeland and the Shocking Return of Ian Ward
The cops call to tell Abby Newman and Devon Hamilton that a boy matching Dominic Chancellor’s description was seen at a motel with somebody. They take off and meet the cops. Meanwhile, Mariah Copeland loads Dominic Chancellor in her car to take off again. But accidentally drops one of his gloves. Mariah Copeland is crying in the car, kind of freaking out Dominic Chancellor. But she lies to him to calm him down.
Devon Hamilton and Abby Newman confirm to the cops that, yes, that’s Dominic Chancellor’s mitten. And they see Mariah Copeland with Dominic Chancellor on security footage. Abby Newman also calls to let Victor Newman know that Mariah Copeland snatched Dominic Chancellor and the police are busy searching for them. Tessa Porter is horrified and she asks Daniel Romalotti, “What could Mariah Copeland be thinking?”
Next week on Young and the Restless, spoilers have Tessa Porter telling Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) what happened and says they are not dealing with the Mariah Copeland they know and love. Tessa Porter says that Mariah Copeland has changed and tells Sharon Newman that what Mariah Copeland is doing right now scares the hell out of her.

Young and the Restless: Ian Guides Mariah
Meanwhile, Ian Ward is in the car with Mariah Copeland and he’s telling her she knows what needs to be done. Ian Ward tells Mariah Copeland next week to keep her eye on the prize. But then from the backseat, Dominic Chancellor says, “Papa, what the heck?”
All along, we’ve been presented with the notion that Ian Ward was a hallucination in Mariah Copeland’s brain. Is Ian Ward really in the car with them? Is that who Dominic Chancellor is talking about when he says, “Papa?” We all know that Ian Ward is really alive. But nobody in Genoa City knows it.
We may get a huge shocker next week if it turns out Mariah is hanging out with the real, not-dead Ian Ward and she’s not just imagining him. Mariah Copeland has maybe known for a while that she was really hanging out with Ian Ward, unless there’s an alternate explanation like he’s drugging her like he was doing with Sharon Newman. Who knows with him.
Sienna Bacall and Noah Newman Face a Crossroads
Also next week, Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin) runs into Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) who says she’s going back to Los Angeles. Claire Grace Newman asks Sienna Bacall, “What about Noah Newman (Rory Gibson)?” Sienna Bacall says, “Yeah, he may be going along with her.”
Claire Grace Newman wants to know if that’s not what Sienna Bacall really wants. It seems to me that she may want to leave Noah Newman in her rearview, leave him in Genoa City But if so, she’s going to have to just go ahead and call it off with him to get him to stay.
As we head into the first full week of February sweeps, Young and the Restless is lit. Be sure to check out our full weekly spoilers video for the week of February 2nd through the 6th, plus our weekly prediction, two-week spoilers, and lots more.

Hilary Duff is comin’ clean about the “toxic” mom group fiasco that took the internet by storm last month … and is even addressing past drama with Lindsay Lohan!
The “Roommates” singer reflected on all the drama — new and old — on her Wednesday appearance on “Call Her Daddy.” She first recalls her teenage “nemesis” Lindsay … who she was often pitted against back in the early aughts — and with whom she was notoriously involved in a love triangle with the late Aaron Carter.

But, the singer and actress confirmed any beef with LiLo was buried way back in the day … saying they came to an understanding one night at the club and even took a shot together!
Hilary noted people didn’t have to “connect very many dots” and pushed back at the narrative, explaining … “It sucks to read something that’s not true, and it sucks on behalf of six women and all of their lives.”

She even addressed her husband Matthew Komagetting involved in the drama — it’s all in the clip.
When the word “Kaiju” enters a conversation, most people tend to think of Godzilla. The King of the Monsters’ debut in 1954 was both iconic and chilling, especially since he was meant to serve as an allegory for the horrors that nuclear warfare could bring upon the Earth. While there have beensome valiant attempts, very few monster movies come close to capturing the blend of allegory and spectacle of Godzilla. That all changed in 2016 when Nacho Vigalondo delivered one of the strangest yet unique monster movies with Colossal.
Colossal follows the life of Gloria (Anne Hathaway), a writer struggling with her alcoholic tendencies and the end of her relationship. At her rope’s end, she travels back to her hometown of Mainhead, New Hampshire, where she takes up a job at a bar run by her childhood friend Oscar (Jason Sudeikis). Around the same time, a massive reptilian monster starts ripping through Seoul, South Korea. It’s revealed that the monster is connected to Gloria’s actions; if she dances, it dances, and if she walks, it walks — though it ends up causing more destruction in the process. What really makes Colossal a standout is how it uses the monster as a metaphor for alcoholism and its destructive effects.

Anne Hathaway as Gloria in ColossalImage via Neon
Colossal was a turning point in Anne Hathaway’s career. While she’d previously played a literal princess in The Princess Diaries, a struggling journalist in The Devil Wears Prada, and impressed fans with her turn as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, Colossal lets her tap into her inner messiness to play Gloria. Gloria’s alcohol issues, much like the monster stomping through Seoul, make a mess of her life. She loses her job, her boyfriend, and is directly responsible for causing untold damage halfway around the world. Part of the draw of Colossal is watching Hathaway play a character who’s the complete opposite of her usual roles, and nailing it in the process.
If Hathaway’s performance in Colossal is a surprise, then no one was prepared for the extremely dark turn Sudeikis takes as Oscar. Midway through Colossal, it’s revealed that Oscar can control his own massive avatar, a giant robot. It’s also revealed that he is a monster himself: he bullies one of his friends, Joel (Austin Stowell), for showing romantic interest in Gloria, and starts verbally belittling her as she begins to gain control over her monster. It’s a pattern that fits an abusive relationship to a T, and it’s utterly shocking to see the man who would later play the incredibly kind Ted Lasso play such a despicable human being. Yet it also shows that Sudeikis has incredible range as an actor.
“It’s going to be the cheapest Godzilla movie ever, I promise. It’s going to be a serious Godzilla movie, but I’ve got an idea that’s going to make it so cheap that you will feel betrayed.”
Toho and Voltage eventually settled out of court, which turned out to be a boon to the indie world. Following its TIFF premiere, Colossal was scooped up by NEON, which has become one of the world’s biggest independent film distributors. NEON’s list of films includes Academy Award winners like Parasiteand Anora, as well as sleeper hits like Hulu’s Palm Springs. None of it would be possible without Colossal, which shows that Godzilla isn’t the only giant monster that can rule the movie screen.

Barbra Streisandis under fire on social media after sharing what she appeared to intend as a heartfelt congratulatory message to Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu. The EGOT-winning legend took to Instagram to celebrate Liu’s gold medal victory at the Winter Olympics, but the post quickly drew criticism from some users who felt the caption veered off course. While many fans praised Alysa Liu’s historic achievement, others questioned Barbra Streisand’s wording and the personal anecdote she included.
On February 21, Streisand congratulated Liu after the skater secured gold at the Winter Olympics in Milan. The singer shared her excitement about the achievement while noting a personal connection she discovered.
“We were so happy to see Alysa Liu win the gold medal in Milan yesterday. My husband just showed me that in 2019 she skated to my song ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade.’ I’m so proud of her. I heard that she is half Chinese. My second family in Brooklyn that lived above us was a Chinese family called the Choys. I worked in their Chinese restaurant since I was 12 years old and also baby sat for their children. She was like a second mother to me.”
While the message was meant to honor Liu’s accomplishment, parts of the caption quickly became the focus of online discussion.

Critics Say Post Missed The Mark
Soon after the tribute went live, social media users began reacting to the wording, with some suggesting the message felt awkward or off topic. “’I heard she is half Chinese’ took me out,” one user commented as another sarcastically said, “Heard she’s Chinese, posts pic of Chinese people she knows. incredible”
Someone else wrote, “Girl, this caption was a wild ride,” while a fourth bluntly said, “Boomer posting, this is so funny I’m sorry.”
Beyond the wording, other critics argued the caption shifted attention away from Liu’s accomplishment and toward Streisand’s personal experiences. One widely shared reaction summed up the sentiment circulating online, “How do I make her gold medal winning accomplishment by an Asian woman about me?’ – Barbra probably.”

The comments didn’t stop there. Another Instagram user chimed in with, “Welp. We now know Barbra writes her own posts,” while someone else simply asked, “the caption???” adding a skull emoji.

Liu’s Olympic victory wasn’t just about the medal. It also represented the culmination of a deeply personal journey that has defined her career. Her gold-winning program, set to Donna Summer’s “MacArthur Park,” showcased both technical precision and emotional artistry, with the 20-year-old appearing fully immersed in the moment during the final stretch of the performance.
For Liu, success wasn’t solely about the podium but about the opportunity to express herself on the ice. “I’m really grateful that I got the chance to showcase my art and my ideas,” she said after winning.

Alysa Liu’s Historic Gold Marks First U.S. Women’s Olympic Win In 24 Years

The historic moment also carried broader significance, marking the first Olympic gold medal for a U.S. women’s figure skater in 24 years. Liu’s path to that achievement has been anything but conventional. She first stepped onto the ice at just five years old after her father, Arthur Liu, recognized her potential and committed heavily to her development.
“I spared no money, no time,” he said in an interview with “60 Minutes.” “I just saw the talent.” That dedication meant Liu’s childhood looked very different from most, with intense training schedules during her early teenage years that required daily time on the ice.
Alysa Liu Also Helped Secure Team USA Gold
Liu’s Olympic success extended beyond her individual performance, as she also played a key role in Team USA’s gold medal victory earlier in the competition. On February 6, the 20-year-old delivered her short program during the team event, finishing second behind Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto with a score of 74.90, despite receiving a quarter under-rotation call on her triple loop.
The strong performance contributed valuable points toward the United States securing the top podium spot.

Game of Thronesmay have ended almost seven years ago, but the franchise is stronger than ever, with both House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms becoming huge successes and more spin-offs being developed. George R. R. Martin recently announced that his franchise, which spans both page and screen, is now heading to the stage alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company with the upcoming play The Mad King.
This spin-off is the most directly connected to Game of Thrones as it explores the reign of King Aerys II Targaryen (David Rintoul), father of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), allowing it to feature many important characters, some of whom appear in the original show and others who impact the story long after their deaths. Even more intriguing is that Martin’s announcement reveals that the play will focus on the Tourney at Harrenhal, an event that fans have been speculating about for decades. As such, The Mad King is in a position to answer a long-standing mystery that Game of Thrones never addressed.

The Tourney at Harrenhal Sets Up the Events of ‘Game of Thrones’

While the play takes place roughly 17 years before Game of Thrones, the Tourney at Harrenhal is a significant factor in the show’s events because it is one of the inciting events of Robert’s Rebellion. This war shapes Westeros ahead of Game of Thrones, positioning characters for their various roles. But more importantly, the tourney itself brings Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) and Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding) together, directly leading to Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) birth. Throughout Martin’s books, there are several references to the event where Rhaegar crowns Lyanna the Queen of Love and Beauty, and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) joins the Kingsguard, but the tourney’s biggest mystery involves a character known only as the Knight of the Laughing Tree.
In the books, this story is relayed through Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick), who heard it from her father. She explains that a crannogman — likely her father, Howland (Leo Woodruff) — was bullied by three squires, only to be saved by Lyanna Stark. Soon after, the Knight of the Laughing Tree joined the joust, challenging the men these squires served and defeating all threebefore demanding that they teach their squires honor. After the mystery knight’s victory, Aerys grows suspicious, believing the anonymous knight to be his enemy, and sends men to unmask the stranger. However, the Knight of the Laughing Tree is never found, leaving his identity a mystery.

‘Game of Thrones’ New Prequel Can Reveal the Knight of the Laughing Tree’s Identity
The Tourney at Harrenhal leaves the knight’s identity unconfirmed, and over the years, fans have developed many theories. Ned Stark (Sean Bean) and all three of his siblings are present in the story, making them possibilities. With the mystery knight’s shield and name coming from a weirwood tree, the Northern family all seem like candidates. Other possibilities include Howland Reed himself and Ashara Dayne, who is a mysterious figure herself. However, the most widely accepted idea is that the knight is Lyanna Stark. The description fits, as she would have known about the bullying, worshipped the Old Gods, and been smaller than most knights, though this doesn’t explain the knight’s jousting skill. If Lyanna is the knight, it could explain how she and Rhaegar meet, since he is one of the people Aerys sends to pursue the knight. Proponents of this theory even suggest that these events inspired Rhaegar’s interest in Lyanna, which is a major plot point that impacts Game of Thrones.
Since Martin and the RSC’s upcoming play explores the significant events of the Tourney at Harrenhal, it should address the Knight of the Laughing Tree’s story, providing answers that fans have been waiting for. While the play itself may not be officially canon, especially as it will likely make some changes to Martin’s story, the author did work with the production, meaning that he likely provided information about his unfinished plans. After the books left this Game of Thrones mystery unsolved for decades, The Mad King has the chance to finally answer it.
The 2024 action-comedy Freaky Tales is a unique and hilarious anthology that brings together the lives of a handful of very different characters during one unusual night in Oakland, California, in 1987. Amid the cast of talented actors, including Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, and Dominique Thorne, is a remarkable cameo from Tom Hanks.Arriving completely by surprise, he delivers a monologue that’s one of the film’s more captivating moments. While his appearance happened as a favor, it turned out to define the movie in many ways.
Tom Hanks Appears as a Video Store Clerk in ‘Freaky Tales’
The scene in question comes almost halfway through the movie, during the segment Born To Mack. Clint, played by Pascal, walks into a video store where the clerk (Hanks) is watching the basketball game that becomes pivotal toward the end of the film. An exchange about the game’s score leads to a conversation about underdogs and why we find them so compelling. Hanks, wearing thick-rimmed glasses and a shirt for a real-life Oakland donut shop, launches into his top five underdog movies.
He begins with the “obvious” choice, boxing classic Rocky, declaring that “it’s best just to get it out of the way.” He then lists Hoosiers, The Dirty Dozen, and The Verdict, before withholding the number one spot when he learns that Clint is not there for movie recommendations, but the private poker game in the back room. He does hint that it’s a 1979 film that Roger Ebert called “a cinematic miracle”, which fellow movie geeks will inform you refers to the drama Breaking Away.Clint is perplexed by the entire conversation, simply wanting to gain access to the poker game, and invokes the ire of the clerk by confessing he hasn’t seen most of the movies that are in his top five. It’s a delightful tonal pause in the film, but also one that is in keeping with its themes.

The Scene Was Pure 80’s Nostalgia From an Icon of The Decade
It might seem odd that the multi-time Oscar winner would appear in a scrappy independent anthology, but the actor has some connections to both the film’s creators and its setting. Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck worked with Tom Hanks on the TV series Masters of the Air, and wrote the cameo for him after learning that the star is something of a legend in Oakland, where the film is set. Growing up in the area, Hanks has publicly professed his love for the city’s baseball team, the Oakland A’s, and features on a mural in the city next to Too $hort, the musician who also stars in and executive produces the film.
The appearance is also a nod to a decade when the actor became a star. While he would become famous for prestige dramas such as Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan in the 90s, the 80s were where he became a household name with comedies that defined the cinematic era. Offbeat concepts like Big, The ‘Burbs, and Splash could be said to be in the ballpark of what Freaky Tales is inspired by, where reality and fantasy meet to create a fascinating story.

Tom Hanks’ Speech Fits Perfectly With The Themes of ‘Freaky Tales’
Pedro Pascal in Freaky TalesImage via Lionsgate
The cameo also serves as something of a rallying cry for the movie’s characters, all of whom are battling overwhelming odds of some description. Clint himself is trying to break free of a life of organized crime; while in other chapters, Barbie (Dominique Thorne) and Entice (Normani) are looking to prove themselves as rappers on a big stage, and Tina (Ji-young Yoo) and Lucid (Jack Champion) are looking to defend themselves against attacks from Skinheads. As Hanks’ character says in his speech: “That’s why we love the underdogs, it’s a projection of ourselves. We’re all just a bunch of losers. We cannot kill Darth Vader, we cannot win a rumble against The Soc’s, and we definitely cannot beat L.A. And yet, the underdog believes they can achieve the impossible.”
By the time the movie ends, the film’s various underdogs have done just that, almost motivated by that assessment. Hanks is seen as a comforting voice in Hollywood history – he’s played Santa Claus, Mister Rogers, Walt Disney, and many other figures we associate with authority or hope in the world. As such, he’s the perfect person to offer this rallying cry, even if it is delivered in a more sour tone than we are used to.
The scene turned out to be one of the standout moments of Freaky Tales, as the surprise and affection many of us have for Hanks is fostered in the neon-lit walls of a video store. For a film so affectionate about the past, who better than one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars to underline its message.Freaky Tales is available to stream on HBO Max in the U.S.

Michael B. Jordan is understandably taken aback after suffering racial abuse at the 79th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) over the weekend.
As the event proceeded, Jordan and fellow black actor Delroy Lindo took to the stage to present the award for Best Visual Effects to “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”
However, just as they began their segment, Tourette syndrome campaigner John Davidson hurled the N-word at them, leaving other show attendees at London’s Royal Festival Hall in shock.
While BAFTA host Alan Cumming quickly addressed the room to note Davidson’s remark was an involuntary one because of his condition, it appears the emotional toll it took on Jordan and his family was immediate, with a source telling Metro that the actor is “disgusted and repulsed” by the outburst.

“Michael had to do extensive research into the horrific psychological effects of racism to prepare for ‘Sinners,’ so he was disgusted, repulsed, and grossed out by John’s outburst,” the insider told the news outlet.

John Davidson’s Outburst Made The Actor’s Day Worse

In the horror film set in 1932 Mississippi, Jordan plays the dual role of criminal twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return home to start a juke joint only to be confronted by a supernatural evil.
To play the role effectively, the insider who spoke to Metro noted that he “read works by savants like Joy DeGruy Leary to prepare for the role, so the incident really reminded him about how much work has to be done to drive racism underground.”
To top it off, the incident couldn’t have come at a worse time, as the source said that Jordan was already “having a difficult day” after getting wind of “an upsetting incident” in the Atlanta area. Hence, Davidson’s remark “just made it worse.”

“But, he is having a great year and won’t let this stop him. He’s focused on his new movie, The Thomas Crown Affair,” the source shared.

While the live audience was stunned, social media outrage intensified when it was discovered that the BBC failed to edit the slur out despite removing a director’s plea to “free Palestine” elsewhere in the broadcast.
The program remained on the BBC iPlayer for hours before it was eventually removed.

According to the news outlet, Jordan’s parents were left in tears after watching their sad encounter with the sad incident.
“His mum and dad broke down in tears when they saw what happened to him and Delroy, and it has been a horrible 48 hours for the family,” the insider said.
They continued, “Michael’s community in Newark was part of the Great Migration, which literally happened because Black people were being terrorised in the South. Seeing Michael and Delroy being called that word up there really hurt their loved ones, and so everyone is trying their best to support each other.”
“He postponed some plans in London to spend time with his parents as he recovers,” the source added.

John Davidson Has Addressed His BAFTAs Raical Outburst

Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes a person to make involuntary, repetitive movements or sounds called tics, and Davidson’s case seems to be more complicated as he suffers from coprolalia, which is a symptom that makes him involuntarily say socially unacceptable words or phrases, like when he famously shouted “f-ck the Queen” at Queen Elizabeth II in 2019.
Davidson released a statement on Monday expressing remorse for his outburst while adding that he’s “deeply mortified if anyone considers my involuntary tics to be intentional or to carry any meaning.”
He also thanked BAFTA for announcing to everyone that his tics are “involuntary and are not a reflection of my personal beliefs.”
“I was in attendance to celebrate the film of my life, I Swear, which, more than any film or TV documentary, explains the origins, condition, traits, and manifestations of Tourette Syndrome,” he continued. “I have spent my life trying to support and empower the Tourette’s community and to teach empathy, kindness, and understanding from others, and I will continue to do so.”

In his statement, Davidson revealed that he made the choice to leave the event, as he became aware of how his tics were affecting people around him.
“I chose to leave the auditorium early in the ceremony as I was aware of the distress my tics were causing,” Davidson said.
However, he still garnered social media backlash from some individuals, with actor Jamie Foxx labeling his behavior as “unacceptable.”
“Out of all the words you could’ve said, Tourette’s makes you say that. Nah, he meant that sh-t. Unacceptable,” the Oscar winner said.

The BAFTAs and BBC have since apologized for the incident, especially for failing to edit out the slur before it aired.
