‘Playing for Roma is a dream for me’ after 2-0 victory
Niccolò Pisilli celebrated his decisive two goals against VfB Stuttgart to secure Europa League progress, the academy product assuring ‘playing for Roma is a dream for me.’
The Giallorossi rotated the squad for this clash, making seven changes from the team that won 2-0 away to Torino in Serie A on Sunday, but they managed to secure the same result against high-flying Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart.
This result means Roma are at the very least guaranteed a spot in the Europa League play-offs, and are now in sixth place in the big table ahead of the final trip to Panathinaikos.
A top eight finish would allow them to by-pass the next phase and go directly into the Round of 16.
Pisilli overjoyed at Roma double

“I am happy, it had been a while since I’d scored for Roma, but I am above all happy with the victory, as the team needed that,” Pisilli told Sky Sport Italia.
The 21-year-old was asked about his characteristics, which were compared to Italy greats like Claudio Marchisio or Marco Tardelli, who made runs from deep to score goals.
“I got to see a bit more of Marchisio than Tardelli, but I’ve only been playing with the senior squad for a year, so I’ve got a long way to go before comparisons like that.”

There had been some doubts about Pisilli’s future at the Stadio Olimpico, but this evening he scored both goals on assists from Matias Soulé and Paulo Dybala.
Will that affect his decision on whether to stay with the club or seek a loan move elsewhere?
“Playing for Roma is a dream for me, as I am a Romanista, but everyone wants to play and naturally they will reflect,” he replied.
“I am 100 per cent focused on Roma and will be until my final day here.”
