Data released by the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property shows strong year-on-year growth in filings, reflecting an expanding base of innovators, entrepreneurs and national entities engaging more actively with the intellectual property system.

SAIP said this growth underscores the increasing commitment of national entities to safeguarding their innovations and transforming them into valuable economic assets.

The authority said the increases in individual and institutional filings contributed to a rise in the total number of patent applications to 10,300 in 2025, up from 8,029 in 2024.
