UAE-based Titan Lithium wins $300m Mercedes-Benz EV supply contract
Titan Lithium Industries has signed a long-term supply framework agreement with Mercedes-Benz AG to provide battery-grade lithium for the carmaker’s global electric vehicle portfolio, in a deal valued at more than $300 million (AED1.1 billion).
The multi-year agreement establishes Titan Lithium as a supplier within Mercedes-Benz’s global battery materials supply chain, supporting the automaker’s strategy to secure long-term, responsibly produced and geographically diversified sources of critical raw materials.
The partnership is aligned with Mercedes-Benz’s wider electrification roadmap, with commercial supply expected to begin in 2028, subject to customary conditions.

The agreement also reflects the UAE’s broader industrial and clean energy ambitions, particularly efforts to localise strategic value chains and expand downstream manufacturing of critical materials required for the global energy transition.
Titan Lithium’s refinery is located within Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group) and uses clean energy sources alongside advanced refining technologies. The facility produces battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide designed to meet the requirements of a low-carbon automotive supply chain.
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, said the agreement demonstrated the UAE’s approach to building competitive industrial ecosystems. “This agreement reflects the UAE’s deliberate strategy to build globally competitive industrial value chains in critical sectors,” he said.
“By enabling advanced manufacturing partnerships between global manufacturers and UAE-based producers, the UAE continues to position itself as a reliable, long-term partner and the corridor to the economy of the future.”
Vaibhav Jain, Founder and Chairman of Titan Lithium Industries Ltd, said the partnership highlighted the UAE’s growing role in the clean energy economy. “Lithium is the backbone of the new energy economy, and this partnership reflects the UAE’s emergence as a trusted, long-term contributor,” he said.
“The UAE today represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to provide resilience to the clean energy ecosystem globally. This agreement with Mercedes-Benz reinforces global confidence in the UAE’s ability to deliver critical materials responsibly, reliably, and at world-class standards.”
The deal positions Titan Lithium within a major global automotive supply chain and underscores the UAE’s ambition to become a hub for advanced manufacturing and low-carbon industrial activity, as demand for electric vehicles and associated battery materials continues to accelerate worldwide.
