Celestial Moon Emporium in Consett announces closure

Celestial Moon Emporium, which sells everything from crystals, incense, essential oils and jewellery to promote wellbeing, announced on social media yesterday (January 22) that it will not be renewing its lease.

Located on Medomsley Road in Consett, the shop announced their last day of trading will be February 14.

In a statement on Facebook, the shop said: “Sadly I will not be renewing the lease on the shop at the end of February, and the last day of trading is Saturday, February 14. But don’t worry, I’ll still be around at the markets and looking into renting a shelf.

The post added: “The lovely Vickie from Pretty Little Pieces has gladly agreed to display my Memory Bears.

“Thank you for all your custom over the last couple of years.”

The owner said the store will not be reopening for personal reasons but said they will still operate at the markets.

Customers were quick to share their messages of support, saying they were “very sorry” to hear the news.

One person said: “Ah this is sad news. I only discovered you last week. We will pop in before you close to pick up some trinkets.”

While another person said: “This is such a shame as it is such a fab little shop.”
