A sound blunder on the BBC show interrupted a live interview with The Traitors finalists Jade and Faraaz
BBC Breakfast host Rachel Burden said it was “really frustrating” as a technical glitch disrupted an interview with two stars from The Traitors. The programme’s Jade and Faraaz appeared on the BBC show on Saturday morning (January 24) to reflect on Friday evening’s finale, which saw Traitors Rachel and Stephen claim victory over the Faithfuls in a dramatic End Game showdown.
They were joining BBC Breakfast remotely from London. However, whilst discussing their time on Claudia Winkleman’s programme with Rachel and her co-presenter Charlie Stayt, the audio abruptly failed.
“Oh man!” Rachel responded. “It looks like we have lost the sound, which is really frustrating.” At the start of the segment, Rachel had thanked the duo for “standing on a sort of windy balcony for us there in London” whilst conducting the interview, reports the Express.

She and Charlie were mid-conversation with Jade when the sound vanished, with Rachel jokingly attributing the problem to “gremlins”. “Looks like we’ve lost the sound, which is really frustrating,” she remarked.
She went on: “So we are going to see if we can sort that out for you. So Jade and Faraaz were the first ones to depart in the first part of the final last night, and then it was down to three.”
Charlie remarked: “You know, you get a lot of conspiracy theories around what happened on The Traitors… what happened just then, that’s going to be included in the conspiracy theories, isn’t it? They were just about to say something, and then they were shut down with some key information they were going to bring out!”
Rachel observed: “The curious thing about The Traitors is it’s one of those programmes where you sort of flip your allegiances as much as they do, and there are some people who you become very attached to their story throughout the programme and think they deserve to win. “
The presenter continued: “But Faraaz was one of those who sort of came from behind and seemed to perform so well in the latter stages. And then I think loads of people got behind him.”
She subsequently informed audiences that the technical difficulty had been resolved. “I think we have managed to re-establish a connection to them now,” she announced as Jade and Faraaz reappeared on screen. “Sorry about that both of you, I don’t know what gremlins were at play there!”
Friday night’s finale of The Traitors saw Rachel and Stephen beat Jade, Faraaz and Jack to win. The pair had made a pact with each other early on not to write each other’s name down on their slates, and they stuck to it until the end, with each winning £47,875.
