ADES Holding Company has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Shelf Drilling, has secured a new contract worth approximately SAR236 million (US$63 million) with Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) for the use of its Compact Driller standard jackup rig.

Under the two-year agreement, the rig will carry out plug and abandonment (P&A) operations offshore Brunei. The Compact Driller is currently operating in India and will undergo contract preparation activities in Singapore before commencing operations in Brunei in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Mohamed Farouk, Chief Executive Officer of ADES Holding, said: “This award reflects Shelf Drilling’s proven track record of safety and operational excellence, particularly its unique experience delivering P&A services in the region. This track record underscores the rationale behind our acquisition.”

The new contract reinforces ADES Holding’s ongoing expansion into international offshore drilling markets and highlights its growing capabilities in providing high-quality, efficient, and safe operations for global energy clients.

Shelf Drilling, acquired by ADES earlier this year, continues to build on its regional expertise and long-standing relationships with major operators in Asia and the Middle East.

The company’s ability to deliver specialised offshore drilling services, particularly in plug and abandonment operations, positions it as a key player in supporting energy transition and lifecycle management across mature fields.
