Bahrain’s SLRB launches online property registration services
Bahrain’s Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has launched a suite of online property services through the national portal bahrain.bh, marking a further step in the Kingdom’s drive to unify government services and enhance digital service quality.
The new services include property registration and ownership transfer, as well as application status inquiry and electronic payment. They have been introduced in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority, as part of efforts to consolidate public services on a single national platform and support the Government Programme 2023–2026, particularly in service digitalisation and quality improvement.
The SLRB said users will be able to access the services using eKey and the upgraded eKey 2.0 system. Through the property registration and ownership transfer service, applicants can enter data and upload required documents electronically in a secure and streamlined manner. The inquiry service allows users to track the status of applications, make amendments where required and pay fees online.
Bahrain expands digital property registration
Basim bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, said launching the services via the national portal represents a strategic milestone in the Bureau’s digital transformation efforts. He noted that several development projects have been implemented during the year, including upgrades to digital infrastructure, enhancements to electronic workflow systems and geographic information systems, the transition to electronic signatures, the activation of a remote service centre, and stronger system integration with entities involved in property registration.
He added that the Bureau is now implementing a second phase of development projects aimed at strengthening connectivity with government and private sector stakeholders involved in property registration and ownership transfer.
This phase focuses on data unification, smoother information exchange and improved workflow paths to deliver faster, more reliable and fully integrated services within a comprehensive digital government ecosystem.
Al Hamer said coordination with the Information and eGovernment Authority helped ensure a smooth service transition and compliance with technical and operational requirements, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering innovative services that meet user expectations.
He also noted that property registration services were first launched electronically through the Bureau’s website in 2020, allowing beneficiaries to complete transactions without visiting service centres. More than 26,000 registration applications were processed electronically during 2025.
The move forms part of an ongoing development plan to improve real estate service quality, simplify procedures and strengthen integration between relevant authorities, in line with Bahrain’s wider digital transformation agenda.
