Dubai Police issues scam investment warning over platforms promising 10% monthly returns

Dubai Police have issued a strong warning to the public after identifying a rise in fraudulent investment platforms promoting misleading offers that promise fixed monthly returns of up to 10 per cent with no risks.

The Force said such claims exhibit clear signs of financial fraud designed to lure victims and seize their funds.

The alert, issued by the Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, highlights the growing use of social media and paid advertisements by unlicensed companies falsely presenting themselves as credible investment providers.

Dubai Police said certain companies are using the names and logos of reputable financial institutions to appear legitimate, despite operating without licences from regulatory authorities.

According to the Force, many of these schemes rely on pyramid-style structures or promise unrealistic returns, collecting money from new investors to generate temporary payouts for earlier victims before disappearing.

The Force stressed that expecting a monthly return of 10 per cent or more is unrealistic in a regulated investment environment, noting that high returns inherently come with corresponding risks.

Claims of guaranteed, risk-free profits should therefore be treated as clear warnings of potential financial fraud.

Public urged to report suspicious activity

Dubai Police urged the public to resist the temptation of quick gains and to verify company licences directly with the appropriate authorities before investing or transferring any funds.

The public is also encouraged to report suspicious activities or advertisements through the eCrime platform or by calling 901.

The Force emphasised the shared responsibility of combating financial fraud and highlighted the importance of public awareness as a key line of defence against falling victim to criminal schemes.
