Nesma & Partners has been awarded the main utilities and infrastructure works package for Expo 2030 Riyadh, marking a major milestone in the delivery of the landmark global event.

The contract reinforces the company’s role in executing large-scale civil and infrastructure projects and places it at the centre of the Expo’s transition from early preparation into full construction mode.

The package represents a critical enabling phase for the Expo 2030 Riyadh site. Under the contract, Nesma & Partners will deliver around 50 kilometres of integrated infrastructure networks, including internal road systems and essential utilities such as water, sewage, electrical and communication systems, as well as electric vehicle charging stations.

These works will provide the backbone of the site, supporting operational requirements and preparing the ground for subsequent construction phases and the development of the Expo’s signature structures.

Samer Abdul Samad, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nesma & Partners, said the award reflects both the scale and responsibility of the task ahead. “We are proud to be entrusted with delivering this phase of infrastructure for Expo 2030 Riyadh. This project is not only about scale, but also about precision, integration, and responsibility. Our focus will be on delivering high-quality infrastructure that supports the ambition of Expo 2030 Riyadh and sets a strong foundation for everything that follows.”

“By moving early on the infrastructure that underpins the entire site, we are creating the conditions for safe, coordinated, and high-quality delivery across all future phases of development, while ensuring a lasting legacy well beyond 2030. The contract has been awarded ahead of schedule to accelerate the delivery timeline as part of a phased approach that will see construction across infrastructure, buildings, and public spaces advance steadily through 2026 and into early 2027.”

The award underlines Nesma & Partners’ ability to mobilise rapidly and deliver complex infrastructure within a coordinated, phased framework. The company said the project reflects its ongoing commitment to quality, sustainability, innovation and worker welfare, while contributing to the long-term value of the Expo site.

Expo 2030 Riyadh will run from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031 and is expected to welcome millions of visitors under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow”. Following the event, the site will be transformed into a lasting urban destination for the city and the wider region.
