U.S. stock index futures were little changed on Friday ahead of what is expected to be a trading session with low volumes post the Christmas holiday. Precious metals silver, gold, and platinum scaled new all-time highs, extending their massive run this year.
Despite the holiday-shortened week, with markets shut on Thursday for New Year’s Day, investors will have several economic data releases to watch out for in the final week of the year. The highlights will be the Crude oil inventories data releasing on Monday, the FOMC releasing its minutes of the meeting on Tuesday, and initial jobless claims and Chicago PMI for December scheduled for Wednesday. S&P Global Manufacturing PMI for December is due on Friday.
