Monthly rental agreements and SUVs continued to dominate Dubai’s car hire market in 2025, as residents and visitors increasingly opted for flexible, short-term mobility solutions, according to new insights from dubizzle.

The UAE-based classifieds platform said the rental car sector has expanded alongside Dubai’s population growth and strong tourism performance, with users prioritising convenience, cost efficiency and lifestyle-driven choices. Rental vehicles are increasingly being used for both everyday travel and leisure experiences across the emirate.

Sherif Magdy, Associate Director of Sales for dubizzle Cars, said the data reflects a market evolving in line with Dubai’s rapid development. He said renters are increasingly seeking flexibility and value, with monthly rentals gaining traction and SUVs maintaining strong appeal among families and longer-term users.

According to dubizzle’s analysis, SUVs remained the most in-demand vehicle category in 2025, with up to four times more listings than other body types. Their versatility, space and suitability for family use were cited as key drivers of demand.

Monthly rentals accounted for the largest share of renter activity, representing around 45 percent of all engagement on the platform. This trend was particularly strong among residents seeking predictable mobility without committing to car ownership. Daily rentals made up 37 percent of engagement, largely driven by tourists and short-term visitors, while weekly rentals accounted for 18 percent, serving business travellers and temporary residents.

In terms of vehicle preferences, sedans and SUVs attracted the highest overall interest. Sedans generated the most views due to their affordability and fuel efficiency, with models such as the Nissan Sunny, Mitsubishi Attrage and Renault Symbol proving popular among daily commuters.

Demand for premium vehicles remained resilient, with luxury SUVs and sports cars such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Nissan Patrol and Ford Mustang among the most searched models, driven largely by leisure renters. Electric and hybrid vehicles recorded gradual growth, indicating early but increasing curiosity among renters.

Rental prices varied widely across categories, reflecting a market catering to diverse budgets. Average daily rates ranged from AED 90 to 150 for hatchbacks, sedans and crossovers, rising to AED 1,300 to 1,400 for sports cars and wagons.

dubizzle said the findings point to a dynamic and maturing rental ecosystem shaped by changing lifestyles and expectations.
