New Saudi parcel delivery rule to take effect in January

Saudi Arabia will begin enforcing a requirement for all parcel deliveries to include a national address from the beginning of January, as authorities move to improve logistics efficiency and service accuracy across the Kingdom.

Individuals and businesses have 15 days remaining to comply before the rule takes effect.

The Transport General Authority (TGA) urged individuals and businesses to ensure their national addresses are registered ahead of enforcement, warning that parcel delivery companies will be required to refuse shipments that do not include a national address.

According to the TGA, the decision is a strategic step supporting the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

The authority said the measure reflects its commitment to developing a sustainable parcel delivery sector by improving location accuracy, enhancing logistics efficiency, supporting e-commerce growth, and strengthening government services.

The TGA said individuals can obtain their national address through several official channels, including the National Address platform, Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty, and SPL.

The authority said the upcoming enforcement marks an important milestone in the Kingdom’s efforts to modernise logistics infrastructure and ensure smoother, more reliable parcel delivery services nationwide.
