An ex-Dyson boss who was involved in the global roll-out of the tech giant’s hand dryer and bladeless fan became the new chief executive of a Wiltshire cleantech start-up.
Great Western Railway also confirmed its long-term commitment to Plymouth through a substantial financial investment .
Tuesday
A new ‘bridge master’ was chosen to oversee the operation, maintenance and preservation of famous Bristol landmark Clifton Suspension Bridge.
That same day it was announced the former chief executive of Rolls-Royce would join the board of Bristol-based tobacco giant Imperial Brands .
Wednesday
UWE Bristol took over from the Met Office as the South West hub for a UK scheme helping drive the development of climate action plans in education settings in England.
Thursday
The Bath-based publisher of The Week and Marie Claire snapped up a digital fashion and lifestyle brand for £40m. Future Plc acquired SheerLuxe and its sister company Blush Talent MGMT .
AFC Bournemouth received planning permission for the initial phase of a £90m redevelopment project, which will expand the capacity of the Vitality Stadium to more than 20,000.
The owners of a Grade-II listed waterfront estate on Bristol’s Harbourside also secured £74m to transform the site .
Friday
Today we reported the chief executive of Babcock would depart from the defence firm after overseeing a sixfold rise in the company’s share price throughout his five-year leadership.
And finally, it was confirmed a solar park spanning the equivalent of 160 football pitches is set to be built near Chippenham, following the approval of a government inspector
