Modon has awarded a AED1 billion main construction contract to Trojan Construction Group for the Maysan development on Reem Island, marking a major step forward in the delivery of one of Abu Dhabi’s newest residential communities.

The agreement covers the full execution of two modern neighbourhoods within the project, Mayar and Thoraya. Modon said the contract reflects its commitment to creating long-term sustainable value while ensuring all assets meet the highest international standards.

Mayar will introduce 60 townhouses and 132 stacked maisonettes, a residential concept being deployed in Abu Dhabi for the first time. The homes will sit within a secure gated community designed to appeal to residents seeking privacy and modern amenities.

Thoraya, the second district, will feature 184 architecturally designed townhouses with a private entrance to ensure exclusivity and security.

Once complete, Maysan residents will have direct access to the beach, landscaped parks and a community centre intended to support a family-focused lifestyle. The project forms part of the wider transformation of Reem Island, which has become one of the capital’s fastest-growing residential zones.

Modon described the appointment of Trojan Construction Group as a key milestone in progressing the development from planning to full construction. The company said Maysan’s design approach reflects broader objectives to create connected, sustainable and high-quality communities across Abu Dhabi.

Modon Holding, the parent company delivering the project, is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and operates across sectors including real estate, hospitality, asset management, investments, events and tourism. It positions itself as a driver of urban innovation with an emphasis on long-term value creation and community-centric development.

Construction timelines for individual components of the project have not yet been disclosed.
