Richard Bernstein Joining Janus Henderson as Head of Global Macro
Investment firm Janus Henderson has agreed to buy Richard Bernstein Advisors, a New York-based macro firm that oversees about $20 billion in client assets, it announced Friday.
The deal will place longtime Wall Street strategist Richard Bernstein in charge of global macro and customized investing at Janus Henderson. Bernstein, the former Merrill Lynch chief investment strategist, founded Richard Bernstein Advisors in 2009 and currently serves as its chief executive.
The move comes as Janus Henderson itself is going private. Late last year, Nelson Peltz’s Trian Fund Management and venture firm General Catalyst agreed to buy Janus Henderson for $7.4 billion.
