Saudi National Address rule

Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has begun enforcing a requirement that all parcel deliveries include a registered National Address, warning that delivery companies will face penalties if they accept or transport shipments without one.

According to a press release issued by the authority, the decision came into force on January 1, 2026. Under the rule, parcel delivery companies are prohibited from accepting any postal shipment that does not include a National Address.

The TGA said the measure forms part of its efforts to regulate the parcel delivery sector, enhance the efficiency of delivery operations, improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, and reduce unnecessary communication between delivery couriers and customers.

The authority confirmed that the current phase includes the enforcement of financial fines against non-compliant companies, in line with the relevant regulatory frameworks. Fines start at SAR5,000 and can reach up to SAR50,000 for companies that fail to comply with the requirement.

All companies operating in the postal parcel transport sector were urged to adhere to the approved instructions and ensure that every shipment includes a National Address. The authority said this would support the sustainability of the sector and improve the delivery experience for beneficiaries across all regions of the Kingdom.

The TGA also reminded individuals that they can verify their National Address through the official National Address platform, as well as via the Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty, and Saudi Post platforms.

The announcement was accompanied by official statements published on the Transport General Authority’s account on the X platform.
