Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the employment of 1,000 Emirati men and women within the Government of Sharjah during January 2026, continuing the emirate’s drive to expand opportunities for national talent.

Interviews for the January vacancies are scheduled to begin next Monday, according to officials.

The new hiring directive follows a strong year for public-sector recruitment in Sharjah. During 2025, a total of 3,145 Emirati citizens were appointed across central and decentralised government entities, including 1,994 men and 1,151 women, at a total cost exceeding AED950 million.

The move forms part of a series of initiatives launched under the direct supervision of the Ruler of Sharjah to support citizen employment, empower national cadres and strengthen the stability of Emirati families.

New positions are created on a regular basis to meet the needs of government entities while ensuring sustainable job opportunities for young nationals.

Sheikh Sultan places particular emphasis on providing meaningful employment that enables Emiratis to contribute actively to Sharjah’s comprehensive development process, achieve a dignified standard of living and form stable families.

The policy also aims to supply government institutions with qualified national competencies, enhancing overall performance across the public sector.
