Sohar Investment Forum unveils $780.24m pipeline of new opportunities
The Sohar Investment Forum 2026 has announced a package of investment opportunities valued at around US$780.24 million (RO300 million), as part of efforts to strengthen North Al Batinah Governorate’s role as a major economic and industrial hub in the Sultanate of Oman.
The forum’s main committee said the initiative aligns with national priorities under Oman Vision 2040 and is aimed at attracting value-added local and international investment. An official investment brochure has been launched as part of the forum’s marketing campaign, allowing potential investors to review the opportunities ahead of the event.
According to the committee, the brochure includes about 50 ready-to-implement projects with a combined estimated value of RO300 million. The opportunities span a range of key industrial and logistical sectors, including food and pharmaceuticals, iron, aluminium, plastics and recycling, in addition to projects supporting heavy industries and advanced supply chains.
The announcement highlights the economic potential of the Wilayat of Sohar, which is regarded as one of Oman’s key growth engines. The area benefits from advanced infrastructure, including a world-class port, a free zone, a modern industrial city and an extensive road network, as well as a strategic location linking regional and international markets.
Officials said the breadth of the investment offering reflects North Al Batinah’s ability to attract projects across multiple industrial levels, from light and medium manufacturing to large-scale ventures based on advanced technologies and integrated value chains.
Engineer Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in North Al Batinah, said the governorate represents a core pillar of Oman’s economic development due to its integrated industrial and logistics base.
He added that the Chamber remains committed to supporting investors and fostering a business environment built on partnership and transparency, with the aim of translating the announced opportunities into practical projects that enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable development.
The upcoming Sohar Investment Forum 2026 is expected to mark a qualitative step forward in terms of the scope of its agenda, the diversity of its programmes and the level of participation by strategic entities. The event will feature high-level keynote sessions involving government officials, private sector leaders and economic experts.
In addition, the forum will host direct business-to-business meetings and a large-scale investment exhibition showcasing existing projects and new opportunities across North Al Batinah. Particular emphasis will be placed on future-focused sectors, including advanced industries, the circular economy, smart supply chains and clean energy.
Scheduled to take place on February 4 and 5, 2026, the forum aims to provide an interactive platform for decision-makers, investors and specialists to explore partnerships and reinforce Sohar’s position as a leading destination for advanced industrial projects and sustainable investment.
