London-based First Equity is expanding into the Northwest with a new presence in Liverpool, led by Neil Blankstone.
London-based stockbroker First Equity is opening a base in Liverpool, led by one of the city’s best-known investment managers, in its first move into the North West.
The independent broking boutique, which has roots dating back to the 1980s, provides investment services to companies listed on various platforms including the London Stock Exchange, AIM, Aquis Exchange, and JP Jenkins Private Markets. Neil Blankstone, senior investment manager who joined First Equity in April, will be at the helm in Liverpool.
The news was confirmed at the annual Opus Events “Legends & Laughter” Christmas Lunch, an event organised in support of The Owen McVeigh Foundation, as reported by City AM.
Mr Blankstone said: “Liverpool is a dynamic and vibrant city, one that refuses to buckle even through the hardest of times.”
He added, “It is that resilience and the dynamism of its people, the ‘can do and won’t be beaten’ attitude, that has attracted First Equity to the North West as a key area for expansion.”
It was has also been confirmed that Asset Match Limited has restarted auctions for Everton Football Club shares. This means there’s now an official, structured avenue for shareholders to trade their holdings via Asset Match. First Equity acted as the designated broker for these auctions.
“We’re proud to be recognised as broker in Everton FC shares and excited to announce that we are hiring,” Mr Blankstone said.
“We’re looking for investment managers and advisors who seek the responsibility and flexibility to shape their own and their clients’ futures. With over 350 people in attendance… we were delighted to support Opus Events and The Owen McVeigh Foundation, helping raise thousands through a spectacular event.”
Established in 1986 as London’s first equity inter-dealer broker, First Equity has since transformed into a comprehensive financial services firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The organisation delivers private client solutions spanning discretionary, advisory and execution-only investment management, whilst also undertaking corporate broking duties, serving as a consultant to publicly traded companies.
