The S&P 500 Loses Steam Ahead of Jobs Data
The stock market remained lower in the late afternoon, mostly because of technology stocks, while the S&P 500 tried to fight its way back only to lose steam.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.1%, while the S&P 500, which had been close to flat, was down 0.2%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq is down more than 0.5%.
Tech stocks have run up for several years, and now everyone is taking profit — by selling — in face of some risks.
