This Dow Index Has Turned a Corner

Better known as the Dow Transports, this index is made up of 20 transportation stocks, such as Uber Technologies, UPS, and others. It is up for the past eight days and on pace for its longest winning streak since Oct. 26, 2021, when the index rose for nine straight trading days.

People pay attention to this ‘other Dow’ because of the so-called Dow Theory, which says that the 30 Dow Jones Industrial Average components must move in tandem with the Transports for a true bull market to take hold.
