This Week Is a Central-Bank Bonanza
The Bank of England is forecast to cut by 0.25 percentage point, or 25 basis points, in its sixth rate reduction of the cycle. The U.K. economy shrank for a second month in October.
The European Central Bank is expected to keep its key rate at 2%. ECB President Christine Lagarde has said the bank might raise eurozone economic forecasts again next week.
Sweden’s Riksbank and Norway’s Norges Bank are both expected to keep rates unchanged, but the latter may signal it is likely to ease policy next year.
Mexico’s Banxico is expected to deliver another 25-basis-point cut, but is seen nearing the end of an easing streak. Last week, the country approved potentially inflationary tariff hikes.
