“Trusted Thailand” initiative boosts confidence, attracting more visitors to the country
Thailand launches the Trusted Thailand certification to boost international tourism confidence, focusing on safety and quality. The initiative aligns with Thailand-China relations, targeting heightened tourist appeal and safety standards.
Introduction of Trusted Thailand
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) have launched the Trusted Thailand certification programme. This initiative aims to boost international trust and position Thailand as a safe, high-quality tourist destination, ready to welcome more global visitors.
Government and Diplomacy Support
Mr. Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism, highlighted the Trusted Thailand stamp as a symbol of safety and reliability, especially for Chinese tourists. Mr. Yang Xiaolong, from the Chinese Embassy, praised the programme’s role in enhancing Thai-Chinese tourism relations. The event featured key stakeholders from tourism and health sectors, emphasizing inter-agency coordination for visitor safety.
Program Implementation and Goals
The Trusted Thailand stamp evaluates operators on safety, secure payments, multilingual communication, and accessible transport. Over 5,000 operators are anticipated to join, benefiting from promotional support. As Thailand celebrates 50 years of diplomacy with China, the initiative aims to help achieve the 2026 tourism revenue goal of 2.8 trillion Baht.
