UAEV partners with Autel to advance smart energy and EV charging technologies across the UAE
Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV), the national charge point operator developing the UAE’s electric vehicle infrastructure, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Autel Digital Power Co., Ltd to strengthen the country’s smart charging and energy management capabilities.
The agreement, signed during a UAEV delegation visit to Autel’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, represents a major step towards creating a future-ready, intelligent energy ecosystem that enhances reliability, efficiency, and sustainability for EV users nationwide.
UAEV, Autel boost EV infrastructure
Under the MoU, UAEV and Autel will collaborate on developing and testing advanced technologies such as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) systems, integrated battery energy storage, and intelligent charging platforms tailored to the UAE’s climate and mobility requirements. The partnership will include joint research, pilot projects, and the deployment of locally optimised charging solutions designed to ensure high performance even in extreme temperatures.
Autel will contribute its technical expertise in DC fast charging systems, remote maintenance, and AI-driven diagnostics, while UAEV will leverage its national mandate to expand the charging network across all seven emirates. Together, the two organisations aim to build a smarter, more adaptive EV ecosystem that improves system resilience and accelerates adoption across the country.
“This collaboration represents a significant step in advancing the UAE’s next generation of smart charging and energy management solutions,” said Ali Al Darwish, Chief Executive Officer of UAEV. “By pairing Autel’s technical strengths with our expanding national infrastructure, we are creating an ecosystem that is more resilient, more intelligent, and fully aligned with the UAE’s clean mobility ambitions.”
Melody, Vice President at Autel, said: “Autel is honoured to collaborate with UAEV on this national initiative, which marks an important milestone in strengthening the UAE’s EV charging infrastructure. We are committed to supporting the country’s vision with advanced technologies that deliver high reliability and efficiency.”
The partnership supports the UAE’s broader National Electric Vehicles Policy and Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, which aim to promote sustainable mobility and reduce carbon emissions.
UAEV plans to install more than 1,000 high-speed DC chargers by 2030, ensuring nationwide access to fast, reliable charging and positioning the UAE as a regional leader in next-generation electric mobility.
