Grande got candid about her career in the latest issue of Interview Magazine. She sat down for a heart-to-heart interview with Hollywood icon Nicole Kidman, reflecting on how her return to acting has had a positive influence on her relationship with music.

When Kidman noted Grande had a big tour coming up, the “Side to Side” hitmaker confessed that the upcoming shows were smaller compared to past gigs. She explained that she was excited for the Eternal Sunshine tour “in a way that feels so different” from the past.

“I’ve just been healing my relationship to music and touring over the past couple of years,” Grande continued, sharing that she had spent a lot of time revamping her system when it came to making music. She added that time away from music helped her understand her relationship with fame and being an artist.

The Singer Credits ‘Glinda’ Role For Positively Impacting Her Relationship With Music

Grande told Kidman that acting played a key role in revamping her relationship with fame and music, saying: “I think my time with Glinda and with acting really helped me build the strength to be able to do that.”

“I can’t express how grateful I am. I think it just held some traumas for me before, and I feel those dissipating, and that is such an extraordinarily beautiful thing,” Grande added. She dived deeper into her complex relationship with music, reflecting on the beginning of her career.

Grande confessed that “there was a tricky adjustment period” when her pop music career kicked off in the beginning. She stressed that she wasn’t being ungrateful; however, her past self wasn’t ready for the drastic changes fame brought into her life.

Grande doubled down on being grateful for her achievements as a musician, noting her confessions stemmed from being unprepared for “certain pieces of it.” She confessed that it “became so exhausting” to shrug off her pain and pretend like she didn’t care.

“I just feel like should that dance have to be a part of being an artist, or should that just be put in a box far away from me, and I’ll just do my art and not let that ruin my relationship to it?” Grande said about the unflattering parts of the industry.

The entertainer’s confessions match the sentiments she shared in her recent appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast. The Blast reported that the November 18 episode saw Grande declaring that her upcoming tour would be the last in the foreseeable future.

Grande described her 2026 tour as “one last hurrah,” explaining that it would be good for her soul to focus on acting rather than music. She confessed that she craved new experiences, no matter how mundane, as long as they resonated with her.

The TV personality revealed that she was working on a new movie, claiming she chose the role because she fell in love with the script. She wanted to experience more moments like these, noting she didn’t mind taking minor roles in movies or shows she liked.

Grande’s decision to focus on acting came days before she shocked fans with a health update. The Blast shared that she broke the news on her Instagram Story, revealing that she had tested positive for COVID. The news sparked immediate changes to the “Wicked: For Good” press tour.
