“It’s ironic that Kay’s ship is called the Trailblazer, since there’s actually not a whole lot of ideas in Star Wars Outlaws that haven’t been done before in other action and open-world adventures. Instead, it’s quite like the Millenium Falcon: a bucket of bolts held together with repurposed parts and prone to breaking down, but at its best it’s more than capable of jolting your pleasure centres into Star Wars fan hyperspace. A clever syndicate system brings real weight to almost every task you choose to undertake, some of which have creative quest designs that can often conjure up some genuinely stunning blindsides. Having a pal like Nix at your side the entire time not only adds an extra dimension to Kay’s fairly generic smuggler character, but also gives her an enhanced set of useful abilities. But even he can’t quite make its stealth and combat feel any less rigid and repetitive, and the odds of avoiding the many glaring technical issues present at launch are 3,720 to one. But you probably didn’t want me to tell you the odds.”

When you consider it’s a completely free mod for Fallout 4 rather than an official game, Fallout London is incredibly impressive. It’s a massive RPG worthy of the Fallout moniker, and the way it uses its titular city to shake up the series’ US-centric formula is extremely effective and refreshingly novel. The twists and turns of the main story are compelling, aside from when you’re sent off on unrelated busywork, and going off the beaten path to adventure with companions is as fun here as it is in any modern open-world Bethesda game. However, the technical challenge of being a fan-made mod is still something you need to be prepared for, with an installation that’s more involved than just pressing a button and a distracting amount of bugs and crashes once you’re in. But of course, it’s all worth it in the end: If you can stomach both those hurdles and its occasionally obtuse mission design, there is a lot of fun to be had in Ol’ Blighty.

Monsters viewers issue warning over ‘horrific’ scene in Netflix’s new No 1 TV show

Netflix viewers have cautioned others on social media about some of the violent content in the streamer’s latest hit series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

The series, a follow-up to Ryan Murphy’s hit 2022 true crime drama Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, tells the story of Erik and Lyle Menendez, two brothers who murdered their parents in Beverly Hills in 1989.

Nicholas Alexander Chavez (General Hospital) and Cooper Koch (They/Them) play the two brothers, while Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny portray their parents.

On social media, viewers shared their shock over the staging of the murder scene, with many describing it as extremely graphic.

“Fam, I’m watching Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story… They didn’t have to make the scene when they killed their parents that graphic. SHEESH,” one person wrote.

“I was actually shaken by how graphic the murder scene was,” another person remarked. “It’s Ryan Murphy, I shouldn’t have been, but it was horrific to watch. Both of the boys are actually incredible.”

Someone else simply wrote: “Gahlee, Monsters is graphic as f***.”

The series has risen to top the most watched TV charts on Netflix, overtaking the streamer’s recent hit The Perfect Couple.

In a three-star review of the series for The Independent, Katie Rosseinsky wrote: “It is not hard to see what drew Ryan Murphy to the case at the centre of his new Netflix offering, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. In 1996, the brothers were convicted of the 1989 murders of their parents, José and Kitty; the siblings had gunned down the multimillionaire couple while they were watching television at their Beverly Hills mansion.

“The guilty verdict came after two high-profile trials, the first of which played out on live television on a relatively new channel, Court TV. America was hooked on the story, which has all the requisite elements for a Murphy adaptation. A brutal crime? A press whirlwind? Vast displays of wealth? Tick, tick, tick.”

She continued: “Thankfully, this latest in the Monster series lacks the gruesome excesses of Dahmer. But it also feels like a muddled mix of the best and worst of Murphy’s oeuvre. It’s likely to please his legions of fans, but may leave his detractors feeling a little queasy.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is available to stream on Netflix now.

Tactical Breach Wizards doesn’t demand knowledge from lost magical tomes to conquer its character-focused missions, each of which is filled with lots of doodads to fiddle with and not a lot of space to do it in. Being easy doesn’t mean it isn’t fun though – in fact, the very opposite is true here, thanks to the creative kits on every unit and how dynamic the combinations between them can be. Wrap that up in a vibrant and weird world with some truly incredible writing and it’s hard not to get entranced in its spell.
