Monkey (TV Series) Opening Song (Monkey Magic)

Two 26-episode seasons ran in Japan: the first season ran from October 1978 to April 1979, and the second one from November 1979 to May 1980, with screenwriters including Mamoru Sasaki, Isao Okishima, Tetsurō Abe, Kei Tasaka, James Miki, Motomu Furuta, Hiroichi Fuse, Yū Tagami, and Fumio Ishimori.
Saiyūki was dubbed into English from 1979, with dialogue written by David Weir. The dubbed version was broadcast under the name Monkey and broadcast in the United Kingdom by the BBC, in New Zealand by TVNZ and in Australia on the ABC.
However, only 39 of the original 52 episodes were dubbed (and broadcast by the BBC): all of series 1 was, but only half of series 2 was prepared for a version in English. In 2004, the remaining episodes were dubbed by Fabulous Films Ltd by the original voice acting cast, following a successful release of the English-dubbed series on VHS and DVD; later these newly dubbed episodes were broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK.
A Spanish-dubbed version of Monkey aired in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic in the early 1980s. While the BBC-dubbed Monkey never received a broadcast in the United States, the original Japanese-language version, Saiyūki, was shown on local Japanese language television stations in California and Hawaii in the early 1980s. .

MARRIED At First Sight fans were left in hysterics after witnessing the most awkward sex chat EVER.
Luke claimed Amy is “begging” him to park his car in her garage – as he attempted to explain their differing views in the bedroom.

Luke told Kieran: “There’s something I want to talk to you about, just for your ears.
“Sometimes when we’re together, she asks me to park the car in her garage.
“I was raised to always park your car outside, because if you park your car inside, then it’s beyond your control.”
Listening in during the dinner party, MAFS expert Charlene Douglas said: “I think Luke is alluding to the fact that Amy wants him to climax inside of her, but he doesn’t want to.”
Her fellow relationship guru Mel Schilling put her hands over her ears and yelled: “Private conversation, Luke!”
The chat divided viewers – with some laughing off Luke’s analogy while others got the ick.
One said: “Not Luke talking about ‘parking his car’ in Amy’s garage… idk if I want him to stop or tell me more.”
Someone else added: “”I don’t know how Amy isn’t constantly cringed out and gotten the ick from Luke the shit he says makes me physically ill.”
Another said: “Thinking perhaps Luke and Amy need to have a chat about contraception!! He’s absolutely hilarious though. I love him.”
Even Amy has admitted to getting the ick with Luke previously in their relationship.
When the pair met on their wedding day, Luke kissed her on the hand and said “hello baby” during a photo shoot.
Speaking to the camera, Amy admited: “It’s giving me the ick a little bit.”
He’s struggled to hold back during the experiment – often spewing out his intimate thoughts on camera.
Luke once said: “The most embarrassing thing I’ve done in the bedroom is I’ve offered an unsolicited and unwanted butt plug…
“Which quickly made its way back into the box.”
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

CNN host Anderson Cooper was blasted on air by radio host Charlamagne tha God for the news network’s coverage of Donald Trump, to which the anchor had a stern response.
With just days to go until the historic US presidential election, which sees both Trump and Kamala Harris practically level in the polls, tensions are rising even amongst people supporting the same candidate.
On 24 October, veteran CNN host Cooper, who appears to have gotten over a painful moment during Hurricane Milton, got into a war of words with The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God about CNN’s reporting on the Trump campaign.
The 46-year-old radio host, real name Lenard McKelvey, hit out at CNN after he was asked if Harris should appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast like Trump is reportedly planning to do.
An unimpressed Charlamagne replied by telling Cooper: “Americans need to keep looking at the rhetoric of Donald Trump because I don’t know why we’re even thinking about electing somebody who is talking about putting people in camps.”
He added: “I don’t know why we want to elect somebody who’s talking about mass deportation. I don’t know why we’re having this conversation about somebody who wants to terminate the constitution, to overthrow the results of an election.”
In response to Cooper’s question about Joe Rogan, Charlamagne asked: “Who gives a damn?” adding “I don’t think you have enough conversations” about Trump being a “fascist” and criticised them for having discussions about Harris’s ethnicity.
Then in a rare outburst, Cooper said: “Honestly, that’s bulls***, I’m sorry.”
Charlamagne fired back, saying: “I’ve seen those roundtable discussions a lot. Now that’s bulls***, Anderson, for you to say that y’all don’t have those conversations.”
Cooper then defended the network, but said that he had no control over what was said on other CNN shows. He did say “I don’t think any anchor on this network has been going around saying, ‘Is she Black?’”

Earlier in the campaign, Trump made controversial comments about Harris claiming that the vice president only recently “became a Black woman”.
Talking to journalists in Chicago back in July, Trump said: “I didn’t know she was Black. She happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black? … I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way and all of a sudden she made a turn and she became a Black person.”
When it comes to criticising Trump, CNN has been one of the most outspoken networks in the United States, often enraging the former president, who has persistently branded them “fake news”.
Singaporean Max Zeng wowed audiences with top-drawer geography knowledge. The Hwa Chong Institution student also said the Singapore education system is beneficial for the purpose of a quiz like the University Challenge.

Never came across this show as a kid. My Chinese zodiac is Monkey, in a Japanese Canadian and this show ended one month after I was born. Being this level of wacky is VERY easy for me too, so guess I’m Blessed by Monkey…..it’s a double edged sword tho lol

'Monkey' was one of the best shows in the late 70s/early 80s. The UK dubbed version had Miriam Margolyes, Burt Kwok, David Collings, Andrew Sachs & Maria Warburg as Tripitaka. Weird that Tripitaka was a man, but was played by a woman, always puzzled me that did!
