An Antiques Roadshow guest refused to part ways with an item after a surprising valuation on Sunday’s (22 September) episode of the BBC show filmed at Thirlestane Castle in the Scottish Borders.
The guest brought cycling badges that her great-grandfather, who lost an arm in the First World War, had earned pedalling from Swindon to London and back in under nine hours.
She appeared to be shocked as expert Paul Atterbury revealed his valuation, explaining the amount was due to some of the badges being made out of gold and relating to particular events.
“It’s not going anywhere,” the guest responded.

American Actor John Barrowman has revealed the real reason he quit Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after just 32 minutes on the show.
The Dancing on Ice judge was seen being violently sick on the first episode of the show on Sunday (22 September). The spin-off programme sees celebrities undergo a series of gruelling survival challenges from the Special Forces selection process.
Barrowman, 57, was joined by Strictly Come Dancing contestant Pete Wicks, as well as former prime minister Boris Johnson’s sister, Rachel. In the first episode, they began their demanding winter warfare training in the south islands of New Zealand.
However, the Doctor Who star didn’t make it very far, declaring “I’m done”, after he threw up during the first challenge.
Barrowman added: “I just… it’s not for me, I know who I am and what I’m about, it’s not for me.”
Although the TV personality was offered medical care and the support of a doctor, he told his fellow contestants: “I’m out”.
Speaking to The Sun, he explained why he made the decision to quit.
“I’m not a vegan or a vegetarian, but they made everybody eat vile tofu,” he began. “I would never eat tofu in my life, but you’re so hungry, you just eat it.”
After the meal, Barrowman – who suffers from motion sickness – had to sit through a two-hour car journey to the task site.
“Then it was projectile vomit everywhere and the tofu came up,” he said. “I thought, ‘I’m not going to make myself ill or hurt myself in order to try to prove something that I don’t need to prove’.
“And it was seriously me going: ‘I am completely comfortable with who I am.
“I’m completely a happy person. We’ve all got our issues and problems, but I’ve made a mistake.’”
Fans were left unimpressed at the attempt, as one person said, “It will take me longer to eat my dinner than John Barrowman lasted in the new series of Celebrity SAS“.
They added, “Know he had his reasons, could have given it a chance before quitting”.
Some were more supportive as they said, “Good on you John. At least you had a go which is more than some. It was obvious you were ill. Well done”.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins airs every Sunday and Monday night at 9pm on Channel 4.

The video was actually around a year ago, so I'm not sure if there is someone here who can help me. In fact, I'm planning to buy an Oled TV, but my usage will be for FIFA games and some other games like COD and story-driven games, as well as watching football matches, TV shows, and movies.
I'm interested in what I see on OLED screens in terms of blackness and contrast, and it's really incredible. But if there is a burn-in issue, that would be a really, really miserable scenario, especially for an expensive screen that I expect to last me 5 to 7 years without any issues. If the problem appears after two or three years, or maybe four, that would be truly disappointing.
Can anyone help me choose the most suitable TV for my usage?
Because my mind tells me LED, and on the other hand, my heart is directed towards OLED

Maybe I'm old old school. Now I mean absolutely no offense by this but entertainment centers like that looks absolutely boring to me. Like where's the movies where's the entertainment in the entertainment center. Don't get me wrong it looks nice but it just looks boring. When you come up to my entertainment you're going to see all the 4K Blu-ray movies PS5 PS5 games all PHYSICAL and All there for your eyes to Feast on.
Also in my opinion you cannot be all about super extreme picture quality if all you do is stream.
For me I want great picture quality so when I watch movies it is 4K Blu-ray all the way.
Again absolutely no disrespect but I see all these modern entertainment centers and they look the absolute least entertaining as well as they cost more yet you own nothing. It is all completely reliant on you paying for the content and then paying constantly for the internet to keep the content that you have paid already for. The fact that companies have figured out how to get people to pay more and Own Less and call that Good blows my mind..
If my internet goes out all my entertainment is still there.. To think that you have spent all that money for that entertainment center and everything in it and that can be completely destroyed by one company that charges you one bill(and its Not the Power bill). While paying 2 to 3 times the price for the content with a minimum of 2 companies you pay to gatekeep the content you pay for and have No real control of..

I almost have that same set up. I have the white floating TV stand, Govee lights behind my TV, but, my LG is not OLED (QNED Mini LED-86 inch).

Thank you for the offer. But I'm sticking with my new Samsung 1080P Tv It's more than enough for me, And I plan to keep it for At least the next 15 or 16 years. I use it sloley to watch blu-ray movies at night And I know it will serve me well. Thanks for understanding.But I refused to upgrade to 4k 8k tvs
