What Brittany Snow Doesn't Want to See Change in Hunting Wives Season 2

Brittany Snow is excited to be filming season 2 of The Hunting Wives — but there is one detail she doesn’t want to see change.

During the Tuesday, November 25, episode of the “Shut Up Evan” podcast, Snow, 39, was asked about returning to set after the show became an unexpected pop culture phenomenon.

“I hope [season 2] doesn’t take away the magic of when people start drinking the Kool-Aid a little bit,” she noted. “I hope we can maintain that chemistry we had when we were just having so much fun and not thinking that many people would be able to see it.”

Snow, who plays Sophie, recalled how season 1 was such a labor of love.

“It sort of seemed like we had a secret that no one else knew about and I hope it maintains,” she added. “But now that it is so ubiquitous, we are hoping for the best and that we can live up to that pressure. I hope we don’t let it seep into our acting.”

Based on May Cobb‘s novel, The Hunting Wives follows Sophie after she relocates from Boston to an East Texas town. Sophie ultimately finds herself drawn to prominent socialite Margo (Malin Åkerman) and joins a clique of wealthy, conservative housewives with a passion for guns and cocktails before becoming a suspect in a murder.

In addition to Åkerman, 47, and Snow, the first season — which premiered in July — also stars Katie Lowes, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, Chrissy Metz, Jaime Ray Newman and George Ferrier. Before the show premiered, Åkerman spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about the chemistry between Sophie and Margo.

“[My character] gains power through many different ways. Part of her manipulation is sex, it is sexual and it’s how a lot of people operate in this world and in order to gain control. So when you have that power — and she’s very aware of it — she knows how to use it and she does,” Åkerman told Us when the show debuted. “So I like that about her. That’s what becomes controversial and fun and salacious and saucy, and that’s why we want to watch her.”

While The Hunting Wives initially appeared to be a one-season series, it made some surprising changes from the book in order to set itself up for a renewal. The show found success at Netflix, which renewed the show in September.

“Brittany [Snow] and I have become really great friends and I can definitely, definitely say that season 2 will exceed everyone’s expectations,” Åkerman teased to Us last month. “Because I didn’t know how they were going to top season 1. But I think we’ve got a great writers’ room.”

The Hunting Wives took a lot of inspiration from May Cobb’s novel — but there were also some surprising changes. Netflix released the first season in July 2025, which followed Sophie (Brittany Snow) after she relocated from Boston to an East Texas town. Åkerman promised that next season will “just blow you away,” adding, “So get ready.”

Snow, meanwhile, recently praised Åkerman for being the perfect scene partner.

“Something really great about Malin too is she’s really, really attuned to what I was thinking or what others were thinking in terms of comfortability,” she shared on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in October. “So she was always very aware — [since] she’s Swedish — that she’s more open with nudity. She is still a woman and wants to look good and isn’t just walking around naked. But I was more conscientious about it.”

Snow continued: “She would go like, ‘Do you want me to put my body here so you don’t have to show this part of yourself?’ I was like, ‘This is so selfless and nice.’”

The Hunting Wives is currently streaming on Netflix.
