Put aside your everyday pieces and instead, opt for clothing items with some sort of special flair, from their color to their material or detailing. This is a surefire way to put you in a holly jolly mood and help you *romanticize* the season.
Read on for 25+ holiday outfit ideas featuring items under $100, so that you can dress for the festivities without breaking the bank. Whether you’re keeping it casual or need some dressier looks for holiday parties, I’ve got you covered in this guide!
Casual Holiday Outfit Ideas
Looking for some low-key yet festive outfits to wear this holiday season? These casual holiday outfits are going to put cheer into your everyday wardrobe.
Casual Daytime Holiday Outfit
Give me all the all the Fair Isle print during the holiday season! This classic print is a hallmark of the wintertime, and this year, it’s especially on-trend. Wear it in the form of this adorable Nordic-print sweater that has a slouchy fit with a cropped design, giving it a more modern and youthful vibe.
Add to the sweater’s laid-back aesthetic by wearing it with some straight-leg jeans and a matching ivory rib knit beanie hat that will help you stay warm (while making you look extra cute).
Take on the cold weather with some lace-up hiker boots that are a great option for outdoor activities like picking a Christmas tree—just throw on a puffer jacket and you’ll be all set!
Casual Night Out Holiday Outfit
Just because you’re dressing casually doesn’t mean you shouldn’t embrace a festive vibe!
A bright red top can really do wonders this time of the year, and this red long-sleeved one-shoulder top is a trendy option that you’ll want to wear after the holidays, too.
Make it pop by pairing it with dark wash denim like these low-rise baggy jeans, which are casual, but become more elevated when styled with a chic belt with gold metal accents.
Bring the ensemble together with some black Chelsea boots with a short, lug heel, some gold hoop earrings, and a red studded shoulder bag, which is very on-trend this season.
Red Bear Graphic Sweater with a Mini Skirt
This season, the Ralph Lauren aesthetic has been a major trend (though it can be a bit pricey). Get the look with this adorable red sweater with a bear skiing graphic that has a preppy vibe with a playful, wintertime twist.
It will look fabulous worn with a mini skirt and knee-high boots, or with jeans and Uggs.
Red Off-the-Shoulder Top with a Plaid Skirt
If you could only invest in one festive piece this season, I would tell you to go for a red off-the-shoulder top like this one.
It’s a surprisingly versatile piece that can be worn day or night, dressed down or up. Wear it with jeans or a plaid midi skirt for a more relaxed look, or pair it with faux leather pants or a sparkly black mini skirt for a night out.
Its color is totally going to pop, and its neckline is ideal for accessorizing with your favorite necklaces and earrings.
Fair Isle Cardigan with Jeans
This red and white Fair Isle cardigan sweater couldn’t be cuter for the holiday season. It’s ultra-festive while still being warm and cozy, and it will add immediate flair to even the most basic white tee worn underneath.
Style it with jeans (any wash will do) and Ugg boots or ankle boots for an easy yet merry look.
Fair Isle Sweater & Lounge Shorts
How insanely cute is this knit set (sold separately) featuring a cropped pullover sweater and lounge shorts, both with a festive Fair Isle print?! If you’re looking for a cozy yet flirty outfit to curl up by the fire in, this one is for you.
The lounge shorts feature a fold-over waist, while the sweater has a wide boatneck and slouchy drop-shoulder balloon sleeves, giving it added style appeal. Both pieces are made with a fuzzy knit material that is soft and absolutely perfect for lounging around in, while looking absolutely adorable.
Of course, you can wear the items separately too; for example, the sweater will look great with jeans or leggings.
Graphic Print Sweater with a Faux Fur Coat
It’s time to pull out the winter whites—or in this case, creams. I love the idea of wearing a cream-colored graphic print sweater with cream denim for a monochromatic look. Wear a faux fur jacket over top, and you will slay the holidays.
This cream sweater features a girly ice skate design that you can wear throughout the entire winter season (though it would be extra perfect if you do have plans to hit the rink with friends or family anytime soon).
Plaid Bow Pleated Mini Skirt with a Sweater
This adorable pleated plaid mini skirt is practically guaranteed to earn you compliments thanks to its festive bows at the front.
Style it with a slouchy knit sweater for a laid-back look, or opt for a more fitted turtleneck or cardigan for a more refined holiday ensemble.
Long Red Coat with Jeans
Make a statement with a long red button-front coat this holiday season.
This red button-front coat is going to add the ultimate pop of color to your outfits and can be worn with casual and dressy outfits alike. Its classic design makes this coat a chic choice that will transform even a basic top, jeans, and sneakers into an eye-catching look.
Green Plaid Smocked Blouse with Jeans
Like Fair Isle, there’s something about plaid that is extra fitting during the holiday season, especially if the plaid print features hues like red or green.
This green plaid smocked blouse is definitely giving Christmastime with its color scheme, smocked design, and sweet bow details on the back. Its a feminine take on a classic flannel, making it a festive option.
Faux Fur Hooded Sweater with Bootcut Pants
Faux fur is a major trend this season, and while you may think it’s only for dressing up, you can still incorporate it into your casual outfits for a hint of glam.
Case in point: this hooded zip-up sweater with a faux fur trim and a Fair Isle print. It’s super soft, features an adorable print with reindeer and bows, and coordinates perfectly with these navy bootcut sweatpants for an ultra comfortable yet cute ensemble.
P.S. — if faux fur isn’t your thing, the trim is detachable, giving you two ways to wear this sweater.
Fair Isle Sweater Dress
When thinking about casual, cozy clothing, dresses may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but a Fair Isle sweater dress like this one will definitely change your mind!
It is super soft and warm, and its relaxed shift silhouette will make you feel like you’re simply wearing a longer, oversized version of your favorite sweater, yet you’ll look more polished.
Consider wearing it with tights if it’s chilly out.
Dressy Holiday Outfit Ideas
Need to dress up for some fun holiday festivities? Get ready to *sleigh* with these dressy holiday outfit ideas that are under $100.
Holiday Party Outfit Idea
When it comes to dressing up for holiday festivities, opt for luxe materials like velvet, satin, and sequins. It’s the perfect time to wear these elevated fabrics, whether alone or mixing and matching them for standout looks, like this one.
Get ready to sparkle in this red sequin mini skirt that has “holiday party” written all over it. Since it’s likely to be cold outside, wear it with some sheer black tights and a fun top, like this black satin bow top with an off-the-shoulder design.
Bows are such a festive touch, so keep the vibe going with some velvet bow slingback pumps that mirror the top.
Of course, we can’t forget about accessories: some gold and black vintage-inspired earrings, along with a black velvet handbag with a gold handle and rhinestone embellishments (plus a detachable strap), take the ensemble to the next level.
Dressy Family Holiday Gathering Outfit Idea
Prepare to be the best-dressed family member with this preppy-meets-girly holiday outfit that is oh-so-festive.
Faux fur makes this burgundy cardigan look luxe, especially when paired with this plaid mini skort featuring a complementary color palette.
Keep with the preppy, classic aesthetic by wearing the outfit with tights and chunky patent loafers, and add in girly touches with a burgundy satin hair bow barrette and a gold-plated bow necklace.
You’ll definitely want to be front and center for all the family photos in this outfit!
Velvet Bow Front Mini Dress
Nothing gives off a holiday feel quite like velvet does—especially in red or green tones. This stunning, wine-colored strapless mini dress has a velvet fabrication that makes it look luxe, along with a large bow at the front that reminds me of a present. Wear this to a holiday party, and you’ll be the gift!
I love how it looks with sheer tights (which will also help keep your legs warm). Add heels, a cute clutch bag, and sparkly jewelry for an unforgettable look.
Green Velvet Corseted Mini Dress
Here’s another show-stopping velvet mini dress with a corseted silhouette and an emerald green hue that is sure to put you on the best-dressed guest at any holiday function.
It has a padded underwire bust and a fully boned bodice that provide support and structure, while its adjustable satin shoulder ties add a soft, romantic detail.
Red Off-the-Shoulder Gown
For a super dressy holiday affair, check out this gorgeous red off-the-shoulder gown with a gold metal detail at the center, adding a luxe touch.
Made from heavyweight ponte fabric, it’s extremely chic and will pair perfectly with gold jewelry.
Tweed Mini Dress
Channel the Old Money aesthetic this holiday season with a red tweed mini dress. I love how elegant this tweed dress is, with its boatneck and A-line silhouette that flatters the waistline and gives it a vintage-inspired vibe.
Pair it with pearls, a hair bow, and a long, structured coat, and you’ll look like you’ve stepped out of a classic Christmas film.
Green Off-the-Shoulder Sweater Dress
You’ll turn heads in this vibrant green mini sweater dress with an off-the-shoulder design that features a gold hardware detail at its center.
Unlike the earlier Fair Isle sweater dress, this dress has a sexier, more fitted silhouette that is ideal for nighttime wear. Be sure to wear it with gold jewelry to accentuate its gold metal detail.
Red Strapless Maxi Dress
Formal holiday parties often call for something floor-length and fabulous, like this red strapless maxi dress with an allover lace material and pretty tie-back detail.
Like velvet and satin, lace is another excellent fabric to choose when putting together celebratory looks, and this dress is an incredible option, especially when paired with heels and some shiny jewelry.
Satin Bubble Hem Dress
Red and green aren’t the only color options for holiday parties, of course. Black and white (or cream) can be just as lovely, so long as the clothing item features special details—and this frock fits the bill.
This adorable dress has an off-the-shoulder design with a contrasting cream bubble hem skirt in a shiny satin fabric that is right on trend.
I love how this dress looks like it’s a top and a skirt, but really it’s one piece!
Red Velvet Bow Top with Faux Leather Pants
Contrasting soft velvet with edgy faux leather is always a good idea, especially on a night out during the winter months.
This red velvet swing tank top features gift-worthy bow at its center, giving this top gives total Christmas-present energy in the best way.
Burgundy Vegan Leather Pants with a Blazer
Edgy yet chic, these burgundy vegan leather pants are an unexpectedly cool (and still festive) option to wear out and about during the holiday season.
The burgundy color and seaming at the knees makes these pants stand out, so you won’t have to worry too much about what you wear on top—even a simple black long-sleeve top or bodysuit will be transformed by these vegan leather pants.
By wearing them with a blazer (as shown above), you’ll give them a polished look that is still cutting edge.
Red Velvet Off-the-Shoulder Midi Dress
Hit the holiday party in this red velvet off-the-shoulder dress that will flatter your curves with its body-con silhouette. The velvet material and off-the-shoulder design, along with its midi length, give this frock a luxe feel that is nighttime-ready.
Green Fit & Flare Taffeta Mini Dress
Go for a girly look with a taffeta fit and flare mini dress with grosgrain bow tie straps in emerald green. Available in sizes XS through 4X, including both regular, tall, and petite options, this frock is ultra festive and feminine.
Best of all, it has smocked bodice side panels for stretch (which equals comfort!) and pockets, which are always appreciated.
Sequin Mini Dress
Turn up the sparkle in a burgundy sequin mini dress. This dress is as festive as it gets!
It has a high neckline and is made from a sculpting, form-fitting fabric for a bodycon fit, adding to its sexy yet chic appearance.
I love the way it looks paired with tights in a similar burgundy hue for a monochromatic effect that is fashion-forward.
Sequin Maxi Dress
Want sequins but in a longer, more formal dress design? Look no further!
This burgundy sequin maxi dress is a dream, with a ruffled trim throughout, creating a sweet contrast to the sparkly sequins. A dress like this doesn’t even need much accessorizing, since it’s the moment all on its own; it’s a total show-stopper!

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Civil Rights Leader and Founder of Operation PUSH, Passes Away at 84
Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights leader, Baptist minister, and founder of Operation PUSH and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, has passed away at 84, his family confirmed.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Jackson rose to national prominence during the Civil Rights Movement, marching alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and advocating for racial equality, voting rights, and economic justice. After King’s assassination in 1968, Jackson continued organizing and mobilizing communities across the country, focusing on expanding opportunities for Black Americans and other marginalized groups.

In 1971, he founded Operation PUSH (People United to Save Humanity), an organization dedicated to improving economic conditions in Black communities through corporate accountability, education initiatives, and voter registration drives. He later established the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, broadening his mission to build a multiracial political movement centered on social and economic justice.

Jackson made history as one of the first Black candidates to mount serious campaigns for the presidency of the United States. He ran in 1984 and 1988, helping to expand the electorate and encouraging greater political participation among minority communities. His campaigns emphasized coalition-building and introduced issues of economic inequality and civil rights into mainstream political discourse.

In recognition of his decades of advocacy and leadership, Jackson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, one of the nation’s highest civilian honors. Throughout his life, he remained a vocal advocate for peace, voting rights, labor rights, and international human rights causes.

Rev. Jesse Jackson’s legacy is defined by his commitment to justice and his enduring call to “keep hope alive,” a message that resonated across generations and helped shape modern American politics.
He leaves behind a lasting imprint on the fight for equality and a movement that continues in his name.

The Upgrade: Winter Coats – Corporette.com
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
In the past, we’ve gone on a hunt for the best pieces in a wide range of budgets… but today let’s focus on the upgrade — what to buy next once you’re past the basics. So let’s discuss! What are the upgrades on winter coats? I have a few ideas…
(Psst: check out our latest favorites for classic winter coats here…)
Winter Coats: What To Buy Once You’re Past the Basics
Winter Coats Of Varying Lengths

Odds are good your basic winter coat either hits you somewhere between the top of your knee and the bottom of your hip. And that’s exactly right for your first coat — it’s an incredibly versatile length that works well even if you’re wearing a blazer, and often, a dress or skirt.
Still, the first upgrade I would suggest is to get a longer coat — specifically for days where you’re wearing longer skirts or dresses, but also if you’re wearing a longer cardigan or the like. In my mind there are few things that look worse than a sweater or blazer peeking out of the bottom of a coat, and wearing a coat that is drastically shorter than a skirt always reminds me of middle school.
Below knee length, like the pictured one, is great — you may even be able to find opera length coats, intended to be worn with evening gowns and the like.
I’d also consider getting a hip-length coat if you don’t already have one — they look great with pants, don’t get slammed in car doors (oops), and can hang on the back of your chair if you prefer.
Readers, what length is your everyday coat (or your first basic coat)? What other lengths of winter coats have you found useful?
Better Made, Warmer Coats

Another good upgrade: go for quality. I remember reading that although a cashmere coat always sounds amazing, you actually want a cashmere/wool blend for durability as well as warmth.
After you select what fabric you want, you want to look at the details — is the coat fully lined? Are all of the stitches precise? Are the buttons or zippers a good quality? Are there leather, shearling, or other luxe details?
After your purchase, consider taking your coat to a tailor to get it fitted just to you. As we’ve discussed before, the shoulders are one of the hardest parts to tailor, so hopefully those fit well off the rack. The cuffs should end exactly at your wrist, not longer or shorter, and you may want to consider moving the bottom hem to a spot where your leg curves in — that might be just under your knee or just over the knee. You can also have a tailor add interior pockets (or sew up pockets if you don’t like the way they lay!).
If you’re looking for quality, some of the brands I’ve heard most over the years include Mackage, Fleurette, Cinzia Rocca, Max Mara, The Row, and Akris — readers, what would you add?
Statement Coats

As someone who wears a lot of black, I love a colorful or loud statement coat — and it tends to be a bit of a status symbol as well because you need the closet space to store the coats. I’ve always loved that they can complement your personality and your outfit.
(The gray Mackage above also comes in lovely hot pink!)
Some of our favorite stores and brands to check for statement coats for winter in 2026 include Mackage, Soia & Kyo, COS, J.Crew, and Cuyana.
Readers, do you have any statement coats in your closet? Which ones do you love to wear, and why?

I love these minimal rings from Catbird, where they’re bestsellers — maybe I’ve just missed it, but I hvaen’t seen the “necklace chain as ring” before, and never as delicately done as it is here. Lovely.
The set contains two rings: their Hundred Summers Ring (top, the one that looks more like a chain) and “Threadbare Ring, Yellow Gold” (bottom, the super thin gold ring). Both are made with 100% recycled 14K gold.
The set was $136, but is now marked to $115.6.

On the Scene at the BAFTA Awards: Teyana Taylor in a Plum Colored Burberry Look, Emma Stone in a Black Louis Vuitton Dress, Wunmi Mosaku in a Cobalt Blue Ahluwalia Gown + More
Some of Hollywoods brightest actors and actresses made their way to London to attend the 2026 BAFTA awards held at the Royal Festival Hall.

Teyana Taylor, who has been dominating red carpets left-and-right, was on the scene in a plum colored Burberry gown designed by Daniel Lee. Her long sleeve gown had a dramatic collar that shaped her face, and highlighted her highly sought-after pixie haircut.
Perhaps it’s time that we learn more about her mother Nikki Taylor because it’s evident she raised a powerhouse. Hopefully BET, VH1 or The Aunties Production will consider a documentary.

In addition to Taylor, Emma Stone and Chase Infiniti looked exquisite in their Louis Vuitton dresses that show how interchangeable the brand is.
Emma looked classy and timeless in her black LV dress that had an oval cutout centered. While Chase radiated in a maroon colored strapless dress that featured a dramatic peplum hem.

Sinners actress Wunmi Mosaku took home the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Annie. With a pregnancy glow that enhanced her beautiful melanated complexion, she glistened from head to toe like a star in the midnight sky. She opted for deep cobalt blue gown by British designer Priya Ahluwalia that featured fringe perfectly draped across the body. Think Herver Leger with a twist.

We thought each of these ladies owned the red-carpet in their beautiful ensembles at the BAFTA awards.
What say you? Hot! or Hmmm….?
