Make no mistake Paula Merlo is one of the very few editors of Vogue, who champions homegrown talent on the regular. Over the past twelve months alone, Merlo has ushered in the likes of Valentina Sampaio, Barbara Valente, Maria Klaumann, Raquel Zimmermann, Gisele Bündchen, Rebeca Andrade, and Fernanda Torres as cover subjects to Brazilian Vogue. Next to grace the cover of Vogue Brazil is Costanza Pascolato. The celebrated Italian-Brazilian businesswoman (considered to be one of the most influential names in fashion in Brazil) appears before the lens of Bob Wolfenson. The Brazilian photographer captures Costanza in the bathtub for the unconventional cover shot. Cover shoot stylist Rita Lazzarotti selected a look from Brazilian designer De Goeye for Pasolato to don in the tub.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“No. Vogue Brazil tries too hard and never get it right. They are weak. ELLE Brazil is much better,” declared caioherrero upon checking out the cover.
“Costanza Pascolato deserved better! Terrible…” shared Xone.
In complete agreement was vogue28. “What a wasted opportunity, for something which could’ve been beautiful, sophisticated, and elegant. A simple portrait would’ve sufficed. No need whatsoever to give us a shot of Costanza fully dressed and sitting in the bathtub,” he commented.
“Sorry, but the first thing that came to my mind is an old lady in an expensive retirement home who needs to be bathed because she accidentally wet herself,” avonlea002 chimed in.
