The look highlighted Phellera’s ability to merge structure with ease—delivering a design that felt both polished and comfortable.

Althea Mink: Patrice Taylor’s Atlanta Couture Brand Built on Legacy, Resilience, and Architectural Glamour
Althea Mink is more than a fashion brand—it is a reflection of legacy, resilience, and intentional design. Founded by Patrice Taylor aka @Ritchie_AltheaMink, the Atlanta-based couture house draws its name and spirit from Patrice’s great-grandmother, Althea, a Portuguese immigrant who worked for the United States Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. Taylor remembers her as a woman of presence and discipline, someone who approached life with elegance and strength.

One of Taylor’s earliest memories would later define the brand’s identity. “Whenever she put on her white mink coat and matching hat, she transformed—standing taller, walking with purpose.” That visual imprint of confidence in motion became the emotional foundation of Althea Mink. Even childhood discipline played a role in shaping her eye; being tasked with assisting in ordering church suits from catalogs sparked an early fascination with presentation and detail.

Though Taylor initially pursued music—taking singing, piano, and dance lessons—fashion surfaced early as a leadership outlet. At just ten years old, she organized and directed a church fashion show, designing and styling the looks herself. What others labeled as “bossy” revealed itself as creative direction and vision.

After the passing of her great-grandmother in 2016, Taylor experienced a season of grief that ultimately redirected her purpose. “I realized I needed to create something meaningful—something that would restore my sense of purpose and joy.” She began sewing consistently, eventually opening a store in a Maryland mall and formally launching Althea Mink. Without formal training or business mentorship, she encountered significant growing pains, leading to a pivotal decision in 2020 to relocate to Atlanta and rebuild from the ground up. “I did not have all the answers, but I had faith and conviction that this move was part of a greater purpose.”

Atlanta’s bold aesthetic aligned with her design philosophy. Althea Mink specializes in high-end couture inspired by international runway fashion, reimagined for women of all shapes and sizes. Taylor’s silhouettes are informed by architecture and sculpture, emphasizing structure and stature. “I create garments with structure and stature—pieces that stand tall,” she explains, highlighting her approach to dimension and form.

The Althea Mink woman is deliberate in her presence. She is confident, ambitious, and expressive without apology. As Taylor describes it, “Her presence commands attention without saying a word.” The garments are meant to amplify inner confidence rather than manufacture it.

Financial limitations have been among Taylor’s greatest challenges. Building an independent fashion house requires sustained capital for materials, labor, and visibility. “Often, I would invest in fabric with the hope that one sale would fund the next creation.” Over time, she learned to balance artistic integrity with commercial sustainability, finding a rhythm between couture and accessible luxury ready-to-wear pieces, typically priced between $400 and $2,000. Her intention is clear: luxury should feel attainable while maintaining craftsmanship and quality.

Resilience is woven into the seams of the brand. Taylor has spoken openly about personal hardship and how those experiences shaped her understanding of clothing as protection and expression. “Style is more than appearance—it is armor, identity, and empowerment.” For her, garments communicate strength before words are spoken.

Her upcoming spring and summer collection continues that narrative, drawing inspiration from global art and architecture to create immersive, transportive fashion moments. “Fashion should create a moment, a memory, and a sense of escape,” she says, reinforcing her belief that clothing can elevate experience.

Looking ahead, Taylor envisions Althea Mink on international red carpets, in major publications, and eventually operating from a Paris atelier. The long-term goal is global recognition as a respected couture house rooted in leadership, boldness, and uncompromising design.

At its core, Althea Mink is a testament to building with intention—and, as Taylor affirms, always doing it in style.

Something New: Zendaya Stuns in White Louis Vuitton Gown with Black Train at ‘The Drama’ Paris Premiere

At the Paris premiere of The Drama, Zendaya delivered a refined red carpet moment in a custom white Louis Vuitton gown styled by Law Roach. The floor-length design featured a sleek, sculpted silhouette with long sleeves and a dramatic black train cascading from the back, offering a striking contrast against the minimalist front.

The look felt like a modern nod to classic Hollywood glamour, complemented by vintage-inspired finger waves, soft glam makeup, and layered diamond necklaces that added dimension without overpowering the ensemble.

Just recently, Zendaya embraced archival fashion, stepping out in a vintage Vivienne Westwood dress that paid homage to the past—making this appearance feel like her “something new.”
With this custom Louis Vuitton moment, she continues to balance heritage and modernity, seamlessly moving between fashion eras while keeping her red carpet presence fresh and intentional.

This Korean skincare set from Sephora caught my eye a few weeks ago when it was only a pre-order… but it’s available for sale now.
Everyone raves about Korean skincare but it can be hard to find in the US if you only want to order from authorized retailers… I’m pretty sure Sephora fits the bill.
This set is a mix of cleansers, moisturizers, treatments, and a face mask to help you elevate your skincare routine. I’ve particularly heard great things abou the Beauty of Joseon sunscreens, the brightening sleeping mask, and the innisfree hyaluronic cream.
The kit is $35, which feels like a great price for an intro intro to the field — it’s allegedly a $110 value.
Sales of note for 3/20:

Does It Matter What You Wear When You’re Laid Off and Looking?
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
I was looking back on some of Corporette’s early hits the other day and reflecting on how different the world is today. One of the first ones that came to mind was a reader question on what she should wear while laid off and looking. I started wondering: in 2026, does it matter what you wear when you’re laid off and looking? Beyond what you’re wearing — does it matter how you comport yourself, at all?
The original query: a laid off Silicon Valley executive had run into a colleague at the grocery store looking a bit schlubby (outfit above, much of it sourced from her son’s closet), and she was wondering what else she should have been wearing.
My advice at the time: I suggested she burn the scrunchie, then told her she should be wearing jeans, a simple tee, and a blazer.
What I’d say in 2026: I still think jeans and a blazer are a fine look, to be honest, but let’s face it, a lot of people aren’t wearing that these days. What if she had met her colleague at the supermarket and she was wearing a Spanx set? Workout clothes? Literal gardening clothes with dirt on them?
I don’t think any of us would really balk if we saw a colleague wearing that outfit. I still wouldn’t want to see, say, an older man I’d worked with in too-tight, too-short shorts, or someone in a clubbing outfit at 7 AM, but otherwise… it’s hard to imagine.
Then I started thinking about all the other ways we “see” former colleagues now — in online forums and on text messages, as well as shared stomping grounds like a local grocery store. Does any of it matter now? My old advice would have been to not express personal opinions! Certainly not strong ones on religion or politics! For God’s sake don’t be racist or homophobic!
That said… a lot of the former lines in the sand for general comportment have gone out the window thanks to the blowback to cancellation culture.
What are your thoughts, readers — is there anything a former colleague could wear, say or do that would make them unhireable or even undesirable assuming you know the right people and have the right pedigree?
Psst: Fun fact: I had dinner with the original writer, Lisa, a year or two later while in town for a conference and still think of our dinner fondly — and it’s hard to believe any outfit would have turned former coworkers off because she’s just one of those people who genuinely seems smart and funny and eminently capable. She’s still blogging today!

On the Scene + Interviews at the Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala: Ciara in Willy Chavarria, Jerry Lorenzo, Law Roach, and More!
The Fashion Scholarship Fund celebrated its Class of 2026 FSF Scholars and Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholars during FSF LIVE, the organization’s 89th annual gala held at The Glasshouse in New York City. A total of 160 students from 75 colleges and universities were recognized for their potential to shape the future of fashion across creative, business, and marketing sectors, with over $1.9 million in scholarships awarded.

Hosted by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, the evening honored Law Roach, Ciara and Russell Wilson, and PVH CEO Stefan Larsson, while also recognizing Travis Scott for his continued support through the Cactus Jack Foundation.

Take a look:
Ciara attended the gala alongside Russell Wilson and their children, Future and Sienna, with Ciara wearing a Willy Chavarria look that reflected the designer’s structured tailoring.

The family introduced Ciara and Wilson during the evening, highlighting their contributions to fashion, philanthropy, and culture as honorees.
Jerry Lorenzo spoke about honoring PVH CEO Stefan Larsson, whom he named as a mentor in his career journey. “Keep everything honest and authentic to who you are,” he said, sharing the advice that continues to guide him and that he now passes on to emerging designers navigating the industry.
Christian Siriano reflected on his role as a mentor and why showing up for the next generation matters. “That’s why I’m here. Without the younger generation, we kind of have nothing,” he said. He also spoke to his design philosophy: “I’ve always made sure that I dressed women of different shapes, sizes, bodies, and cultures. I don’t really care—I just want to make you feel fabulous.”
Gabriella Karefa-Johnson attended the Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala wearing a Self-Portrait look as she was honored for her contributions to the fashion industry and continued support of emerging talent. Speaking to aspiring creatives, she shared, “You might sometimes feel like you don’t fit in, but the people who don’t fit in are the people fashion needs the most,” encouraging the next generation to stay true to themselves and push the industry forward.
June Ambrose emphasized the importance of discovery and staying connected to new talent. “I’m on the hunt! This organization is great at culminating and collecting a group of amazing up and coming designers,” she shared, underscoring the FSF’s role as a pipeline for future industry leaders.

The evening also spotlighted the FSF Chairman’s Award, with finalist presentations centered on cross-industry collaboration. Kuan Jackson was awarded the $25,000 prize, presented by Amanda Smith and Raul Lopez. Leading up to the gala, scholars participated in a series of immersive experiences across New York City, including panels at PVH’s Calvin Klein headquarters, discussions at WWD, and programming at the LVMH Tower, offering direct access to industry leaders and insight into the business of fashion.

Introducing The New JB x Margaux Collection
Plush Top & Skirt, Magda Butrym Scarf, Saint Laurent Sunglasses, Isla Wrap Sandals
I’m so excited to share my collaboration with Margaux, a collection of six styles designed with the ease of a day away in mind.
Another Tomorrow Dress, Janessa Leone Hat, Altuzarra Tote, Palermo Sandals
When conceptualizing the collection, I kept returning to the pace of a day without structure, the kind that unfolds naturally, moving from morning into evening without urgency. Time spent walking through a charming neighborhood, lingering over lunch outdoors, resetting in the afternoon, and transitioning as the light shifts.
Sea NY Dress, Etsy Brooch, Call It By Your Name Bag, Fonteyn Flats
Similar Shirt Here, Similar Hat, Adam Lippes Skirt, Jenna Blake Necklace, Saint Laurent Sunglasses, Paros Sandals
Woven texture became a defining element. Light and breathable with a visually rich finish, it brings dimension to each silhouette while remaining effortless for warmer days. The ballet flats, in particular, are designed for all-day wear, pairing that intricate weave with a shape that feels both classic and easy.
Plush Top & Skirt, Magda Butrym Scarf, Saint Laurent Sunglasses, Isla Wrap Sandals
Color plays an equally important role. A chartreuse sandal delivers a bold, directional pop. I’ve been especially drawn to this shade for spring, while multi-tonal straps bring in a nuanced interplay of color that elevates the overall look.
Bottega Veneta Dress, By Malene Birger Bag, Parker Sandals
For warm spring days and spontaneous plans alike, these styles are designed to move effortlessly through the day. Shop the Margaux x JB collection now.

Effortless Hairstyles for Modern Life
In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a hairstyle that is both stylish and practical can be a real challenge. Many people find it difficult to grow or care for long, healthy hair due to daily time constraints, natural hair growth limitations, or damage caused by frequent styling. Thankfully, the beauty industry has developed innovative solutions that allow anyone to achieve the hair of their dreams without compromising on quality or convenience. Hair accessories and extensions now provide an effortless way to transform your look, whether it’s for a regular workday, a social event, or simply boosting confidence at home. These products are designed not only to enhance appearance but also to offer versatility and creativity, enabling individuals to express their personal style in ways that were once time-consuming or expensive.
The Rise of Hair Extensions
Hair extensions have become a go-to solution for those looking to add volume, length, or texture quickly. They come in various forms, including clip-ins, tape-ins, and professional fusion methods, each offering unique advantages depending on hair type, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences. High-quality extensions not only enhance appearance but can also protect natural hair by reducing the need for constant heat styling and manipulation.
Among these versatile options, ponytail extensions are particularly popular. Unlike full-head extensions, ponytail extensions allow for instant length and volume without a long application process. Perfect for work, social events, or casual outings, they provide a polished, effortless look in minutes. Available in both human and high-quality synthetic hair, these extensions blend seamlessly with natural hair and can be styled with curls, waves, or straightening tools, giving unlimited styling options.
Matching Every Hair Type and Texture
One of the reasons ponytail extensions are so widely used is their adaptability to different hair types and textures. Whether your hair is fine, thick, straight, or curly, there is a product designed to complement it. Many ponytail extensions include adjustable bands, clips, or wraps that secure the hair without causing damage, making them suitable for daily wear as well as special occasions. They are particularly appealing to busy individuals because they require minimal maintenance and can be reused multiple times with proper care. In addition, the ability to instantly change one’s hairstyle provides a creative outlet for self-expression, allowing individuals to experiment with length, volume, and texture without a long-term commitment. This flexibility has made ponytail extensions a staple for those looking to refresh their look quickly, whether it’s for a professional meeting, an evening out, or a casual weekend style.
Trendy and Celebrity-Inspired Styles
Ponytail extensions are not only practical but have also become a fashion statement in their own right. Celebrities and influencers frequently showcase them in high-fashion photo shoots, red carpet events, and everyday street style, demonstrating how a simple accessory can dramatically elevate a hairstyle. The ability to create sleek high ponytails, voluminous side ponytails, or intricate braided styles has cemented these extensions as a must-have for trendsetters and beauty enthusiasts alike. Brides and wedding parties often turn to ponytail extensions for elegant hairstyles that can be styled at home or in salons without the stress of long preparation. Beyond aesthetics, these extensions empower users to explore different looks confidently, providing both a visual impact and a boost in self-esteem.
Choosing the Right Ponytail Extension
Selecting the right ponytail extension is crucial to achieving a natural and long-lasting look. Human hair extensions tend to offer the most realistic appearance and durability, while high-quality synthetic options can provide a cost-effective alternative that still looks impressive. Choosing a colour and texture that closely matches your natural hair is key to a seamless blend, and many brands now offer an extensive range of shades to accommodate different hair tones. Investing in reputable brands ensures that the hair maintains its softness, shine, and integrity over time, making the extensions a worthwhile addition to your hair routine. Care and maintenance are equally important; gentle washing, conditioning, and careful storage will prolong the life of both synthetic and human hair extensions, allowing users to enjoy their style for longer without frequent replacements.
Boosting Confidence Through Hair
Hair is often linked to personal confidence, and the right hairstyle can significantly impact self-esteem. A well-styled ponytail with added volume and shine can transform an outfit, elevate mood, and create a sense of empowerment. Many people find that a subtle change in hair can make a noticeable difference in how they feel and how they are perceived by others. By offering an easy and flexible styling solution, ponytail extensions allow individuals to experiment with new looks, adapt to trends, and express themselves creatively, all while enhancing their natural beauty and making every hairstyle feel effortlessly polished.
