@u2nwonknu This was for 2011, though Jessica White is also quite beautiful I would agree. However in the world especially in the US. We need to promote Black models who look completely differently from "Eurocentric looks". Girls like Ajak Deng (From Sudan) this will help break the mental stereotype that Americans have about defining beauty.

they all are gorgeous, no doubt.
but i think it's a shame that black models, that get picked mostly look as 'white girls with black skin' if u see what i mean. (ok, maybe, with a bit bigger lips as well but that all)
all girls, apart from number 2, look like they are mix race.
they should pick more models with really dark skin, huge lips and flatter wide nose.
because who says that isn't beautiful!!?? i think girls with these features get overlooked!

i am not saying they're not black, but they are being prioritised, while the black girls with features I've described are not getting booked and that is a problem in a fashion/beauty industry in my opinion.
black women with a darker complection and more prominent features don't see themselves on the cover of magazines or catwalks and think that they need to straighten their hair, bleach their skin and so on to be beautiful.
and it's not good.

im ashamed as a white woman to see the rejection of soooo many beautiful black girls, my daughter is dark mixed race, who wont get signed because the agents would only be interested in her if she was virtually white. Storm who have a future models division have all of about 30 white models oh and theres a shock 1 black girl. Sooooo ashamed and they should be too

i know…her father is Bahamian and her mother is Puerto Rican. she told Bethann Hardison that she is one of three children (all girls…the middle child). i think she also said she's the darkest in the family.

these girls dont look mixed they look like somali and ethopian models. I know that cause i am somali and i look like them and im not mixed as far as i know. Our people have lighter skin with small lips and smaller nose. But we see ourselfs as black. Sometimes i get pissed when people say you got white feauters when actually it is white that got somali ethiopian feautyres. Sense they were here before whites
