FKA Twigs Staged A Surprise London Gig On The Final Day Of Fashion Week

Kinesiology tape lined FKA twigs and her dancers’ arms, shoulders and legs, creating an extra-skeletal effect. “The lines over my body were designed and applied by Yaz XL,” she told Vogue. “It’s done using kinesiology tape, and it’s something that we’ve been wanting to experiment with for a while. It kind of plays into the world that I’ve been building with Tilda [AKA MugQueens], where we maximise a look with lines and expressions over glam, and it feels really in line with my new era,” she added.

FKA twigs said it was her diverse team that helped the entire performance come to life. “The choreographer, Zoï Tatopoulos, myself and the dancers have been working really hard and pushing ourselves to take really big risks and find new, graphic, animalistic ways to move our bodies,” she said. “Myself and each of the dancers have very different strengths and come from different backgrounds – be it classical, contemporary, hip hop, ballet. One thing I really love about bodies in particular, is the different things that they can do… finding synergy within that as a truth is always amazing.”
