H&M Studio AW24 Answers All Our Seasonal Wardrobe Prayers, Again
H&M is on a roll. From the Anamika Khanna collaboration to the Charlie XCX-fronted AW24 line-up, and now with the H&M Studio AW24 collection; the high-street retailer is showing the fashion industry how it’s done. Much to the despair of our bank accounts.
If you thought your seasonal wardrobe updates could start and finish with a trench coat, some knitwear and a pair of loafers, think again. As well as those staples, H&M Studio AW24 slides in a demand for dark-wash denim, metallic weaves, thigh-high winter boots and XL accessories.
“This fall the design team was inspired by the strong but easy-going style of jazz musicians; throwing on a look and hitting the stage, then heading out into the night,” says Linda Wikell, concept designer at H&M. Not following? Think Ella Fitzgerald in polka dots, Nina Simone in diamante earrings, and suiting the likes of which Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole would’ve swooned over.

So, what makes this drop different from the other AW24 designs? These limited-edition pieces come as part of the brand’s Studio range, where styles are developed by an in-house design team at the Stockholm atelier and are crafted in more luxurious fabrics than you’d find in the main collections. Think cashmere, chrome-free leather, merino wool and organic cotton.
It coincides with what we’ve seen on the runways, too. From the stark whites seen at Marc Jacobs, Thom Browne, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton, to the top-to-toe leather outfits at Comme des Garçons and Hermès, plus the faux fur and oversized outerwear that walked at Stella McCartney, H&M Studio has presented its own take on it all.
Launching in select stores and on hm.com on the 26th September, H&M Studio AW24 consists of over 50 items ranging from glamorous winter coats to party dresses – just in time for the season – and we got an early sneak peak at the lookbook.

In recent years, several male rappers have embraced fashion styles that challenge traditional gender norms, incorporating elements typically associated with women’s fashion. 1. **Androgynous Fashion**: Artists like Young Thug have been pioneers in breaking down gender barriers in rap fashion. He has famously worn dresses, skirts, and sheer fabrics in both his music videos and public appearances. This androgynous style reflects a growing acceptance of fluidity in both gender and fashion, allowing rappers to express themselves more freely without conforming to rigid masculine standards.
2. **High-Fashion Influence**: Some rappers, such as Lil Uzi Vert and Jaden Smith, mix high-fashion with feminine elements. They wear items like blouses, tight-fitting clothing, handbags, and even skirts, often drawing from high-end designers like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Rick Owens. Their style often combines traditionally feminine silhouettes with more neutral or streetwear-inspired pieces, creating a hybrid, avant-garde look.
3. **Makeup and Accessories**: Beyond clothing, some male rappers have embraced traditionally feminine accessories and makeup. Jewelry like pearl necklaces, earrings, nail polish, and eyeliner have become part of their everyday looks, further blurring the lines between masculine and feminine aesthetics. A$AP Rocky, for example, is known for wearing pearl necklaces and experimenting with bold fashion choices that push gender norms.
This trend reflects a larger cultural shift toward inclusivity and self-expression, showing that in rap, fashion can be a powerful tool for challenging stereotypes and expressing individuality.
