He began his journey as a production assistant at ESPN, contributing to some of the network’s most iconic broadcasts, including the NFL Draft, X Games, and SportsCenter. His rise in the industry was swift, showcasing his keen eye for production and storytelling.

Weinberger’s leadership roles at ESPN opened the door to further success at Fox Sports, where he helmed projects like the Best Damn Sports Show Period and Fox Sports Live. His expertise eventually led him to the NFL Network, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the network’s identity and coverage, including major events like Super Bowl XLII and XLIII.

After serving as an executive and executive producer at Fox Sports and NFL Network, Eric Weinberger was appointed President of the digital company Bill Simmons Media Group and an Executive Producer at HBO in November 2015. In this role, Weinberger managed all operations, corporate budgets, human resources, and the onboarding of over 70 full-time employees. Despite his impressive career, Weinberger faced allegations that tested his personal and professional life. In 2017, as the #MeToo movement swept across Hollywood, Weinberger was accused of inappropriate behavior during his tenure at the NFL Network. Weinberger was mentioned in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court against NFL Enterprises by Jami Cantor, a former NFL Network employee. Cantor, who served as a stylist for the network, alleged that she was sexually harassed by on-air personalities, including former NFL players Marshall Faulk, Donovan McNabb, Ike Taylor, and Heath Evans.

These allegations led to his discharge and sparked an investigation. Weinberger, who’s currently being held without bail has maintained his innocence while awaiting a trial date. His case serves as another stark reminder of the shifting landscape in media and the increasing demand for accountability from industry leaders.
