If snow is expected, make sure you have comfortable, waterproof snow boots, warm base layers, and a weather-proof warm puffer coat. If you’re heading somewhere milder that doesn’t get snow, your coat or even a jacket and base layers will work.

#2 | Base Layer – Top and Bottoms

A solid base layer is essential for any winter trip, especially if you’re braving the cold. Merino wool is a top choice for warmth, moisture-wicking, and breathability (make sure it’s the soft version and not scratchy). Your base layer is ideal for layering under your clothes and will keep you dry and extra warm during outdoor activities. Cashmere (pictured above) is another amazing option—it can be three times warmer than wool! Erin loves both fabrics for skiing and winter travel, but prefers cashmere for its added warmth, and luxurious texture and softness. We’ve linked our favorites below!

#3 | Layering Pieces – Sweaters and Jackets

Layering is key in the winter, and having a few sweaters and a couple of jackets will allow you to adjust your outfit depending on the temperature. When choosing your sweaters, make sure they are warm and light enough to layer under your jackets and blazers. You can also wear them on their own if the temps are a little warmer. A cozy jacket and a tailored, flattering blazer are great, versatile pieces to pack as well. Simply choose the type of jacket that feels aligned with your style and planned activities. We recommend one lightweight blazer, and a more elegant wrap or duster coat. If it’s going to be really cold, a packable puffer is another must-have on your trip.

When temperatures drop, fleece lined leggings are an absolute lifesaver. These (or your base layer bottoms) can be worn under your jeans to provide extra warmth on the coldest of days. A pair of high-quality winter boots is a non-negotiable essential. Whether you’re walking through the snow or navigating slushy city streets, your feet need protection. Ever had a day ruined from cold, wet feet?? That is NOT what you want on your trip! Water-resistant boots with thick insulation and a sturdy sole will keep your feet warm and dry all day long. You’ll want at least 1-2 other pairs of shoes on your trip, so we recommend a dressier boot as well as a stylish sneaker. Wear your bulkiest shoe on travel day to allow for more space in your suitcase!

A warm, cozy pair of gloves or mittens is a must-have for any cold-weather destination. Look for gloves made from leather, merino wool or cashmere with tech-friendly features that allows you to use your phone. You’ll want something that keeps your hands warm but is still functional for making phone calls and documenting your memories! We’ve linked a few of our favorites below. 

#8 | Winter Scarf

A winter scarf is the perfect accessory to complement your cold-weather wardrobe. Choose one made from wool or cashmere for the ultimate warmth and comfort. A scarf is not only stylish but practical—it’s perfect for wrapping around your neck and face when the wind picks up. You can also wrap it around your shoulders at dinner or on the plane. Keep your head warm with a stylish beanie or hat. By the way, remember how your mom used to tell you that you lose all the heat from your head, we looked it up and that’s actually not true. 😉 That said; wearing a hat can keep you extra warm! #11 | Outer Layer – Waterproof Trench

IF it looks like rain on your trip, swap your wool/cashmere coat for a waterproof trench coat. It’s an elegant way to stay dry during those rainy, winter days. The trench coat is light enough to layer over sweaters and can easily be dressed up or down, making it perfect for both sightseeing and casual dinners out. If you’re planning on hitting the slopes, you’ll need to pack your winter sports gear, including a durable, insulated ski jacket and water-resistant ski pants, as well as ski goggles, a helmet and gloves/mittens. Look for gear that’s both stylish and functional like the ski jumpsuit Erin is wearing above by Goldbergh. If it’s going to be below 20 degrees though, opt for separates to ensure you are warm enough for a day on the slopes. If you plan on taking your own skis – your packing list will be a bit different and won’t quite fit into a carry-on only 😉. Protecting your eyes is always important, but especially in the winter months. If there’s snow around you, things are inherently brighter… everywhere. Next on our list of winter travel essentials, is great skincare to keep your skin hydrated. Award-winning musician Adekunle Gold is set to co-produce “The Odyssey,” a documentary exploring the 100-year history of Yoruba music. In collaboration with White House Productions, the project will delve into the evolution of diverse Yoruba music genres, including Were, Sakara, Apala, Juju, AfroJuju, and Fuji. Featuring interviews with Nigeria’s revered music historians, artists, producers, and journalists, “The Odyssey” promises an authentic and vibrant narrative that highlights the cultural significance and global influence of Yoruba music.

The documentary’s production team includes notable figures such as Executive Producer Bobo Omotayo, director Abba Makama, and producers Tosin Ashafa and Papa Omotayo. South African actress Thuso Mbedu has been announced as part of the lead cast for Paramount Pictures’ adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel “Children of Blood and Bone.” The fantasy epic, set to debut in cinemas on January 15, 2027, also stars Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, and Tosin Cole. Mbedu will portray Zelie, a determined young woman from a magical African kingdom who embarks on a dangerous journey to restore the magic stolen from her people by a tyrannical ruler, King Saran. The story follows Zelie and her brother Tzain (Cole) as they team up with the king’s children, Princess Amari (Stenberg) and Prince Inan (Idris), to challenge his oppressive regime.

Mbedu expressed her excitement on Instagram, sharing photos in character and a heartfelt reflection on her journey to landing the role. AC Milan have agreed to sign Manchester City captain Kyle Walker on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer. FKA Twigs brought some sci-fi drama to Rick Owens’ Fall 2025 fashion show

FKA Twigs was the drama herself at the Rick Owens Menswear Fall 2025 show for Paris Fashion Week on Thursday. While the singer rocks quirky outfits almost always, her latest look was easily one of her best. For the show, she wore a slinky burnt orange minidress that tightly hugged her curves. The silhouette featured beautiful pleats across the chest that added texture to the otherwise plain dress.

She layered a shearling jacket on top to help beat the Paris chill. The brown piece complemented her orange dress beautifully, with the jacket’s asymmetrical hemline being one of its selling points. However, the most intriguing element of the sci-fi-inspired look was her footwear of choice. She donned a pair of very quirky sculptural knee-high boots. While they helped keep her cozy, the design added some flair to the overall look, making it all the more futuristic.

FKA Twigs completed her Paris Fashion Week look with a pair of rectangular sunglasses and a silver pendant necklace. She kept her makeup to a minimum to let her hair and fake tattoos do the talking.
