Viola Davis Normalized Outfit Repeating With Gucci Dress at Golden Globes 2025

An exquisite choice for this industry veteran, Viola Davis chose to re-wear a black Gucci dress for the Golden Globes 2025. It had the most elegant sequin detailing and sheer cape, the brainchild of red carpet stylist Elizabeth Stewart. The custom-made reworked rainbow outfit that she previously wore in November for the LACMA Art + Film Gala comprised a plunging neckline. Davis’ gown had a body-hugging structure and flowing sleeves which almost made them look like a cape.

Later, Stewart shared glimpses of the eye-catching look and shared backstage as well as red carpet photos and credited the Creative Director of Gucci Sabato De Sarno. As for the actor’s complete look, she styled the stunning dress with a gorgeous Afro by Academy Award-winning hairstylist Jamika Wilson and drop-down earrings from Swarovski.

Davis also recapped her outfit and principal moments from the ceremony in an Instagram post. She credited Julie K Nail Artelier for her manicure and Academy Award-winning makeup artist Sergio López-Rivera for her extraordinary touch-up.

In her Instagram post, Viola Davis described the 2025 Golden Globe Awards as “a revelatory evening” as this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient, She then wrote, “I see my ‘legacy’ more clearly than ever. I’m…inspired. Thank you Golden Globes for this honor. It has sparked a flame.”
