London Gatwick expands winter flight services with 11 new routes launching ahead of Christmas holidays

London Gatwick Airport is significantly expanding its winter flight services, with 28 weekly flights now operating to four Lapland destinations.

The airport’s network has grown to serve 227 destinations through 55 airlines this winter season.


Eleven new routes are launching ahead of the Christmas holidays, including fresh services to Norway, France, Egypt and the Dominican Republic.

Families seeking magical Christmas experiences can now choose from multiple flights to Lapland’s key destinations from Gatwick.

Norwegian operates new services to Rovaniemi, while British Airways has launched flights to Ivalo in Finland.

These complement existing services to Kittila and Kuusamo, creating comprehensive access to Father Christmas’s homeland.

The new routes include short-haul flights to Evenes in Norway, Luxor in Egypt, and Brest in France.

A new service to the ski destination Chambery, France, is set to begin on December 14.

Additional short-haul destinations include Larnaca, Cyprus; Strasbourg, France; and Tromsø, Norway.

TUI will operate a new long-haul service to La Romana in the Dominican Republic.

easyJet is launching multiple new routes

The new routes feature varied flight frequencies, with British Airways operating daily flights to Larnaca and weekly services to Chambery.

easyJet is launching multiple new routes, including twice-weekly flights to Luxor and Tromsø, plus three weekly services to Strasbourg.

Volotea will operate twice-weekly flights to Brest, while TUI adds weekly services to both Luxor and La Romana

The new London Gatwick services will be:

  • Evenes, Norway – Norwegian – 1 x per week
  • Larnaca, Cyprus – British Airways – 7 x per week
  • Brest, France – Volotea – 2 x per week
  • Luxor, Egypt – TUI – 1 x per week
  • Luxor, Egypt – easyJet – 2 x per week
  • Strasbourg, France – easyJet – 3 x per week
  • Tromso, Norway – easyJet – 2 x per week
  • Rovaniemi, Finland – Norwegian – 3 x per week
  • Ivalo, Finland – British Airways – 2 x per week
  • Chambery, France – British Airways -1 x per week
  • La Romana, Dominican Republic – TUI – 1 x per week
