It’s well known that Marriott’s W Hotels brand has been rolling out sleek new transformations worldwide and opening hotels in must-visit cities. These openings include a significant refresh of the W Union Square in New York City and the recent opening of the W Las Vegas (formerly Accor’s Delano).

Now Marriott is welcoming guests to the latest outpost of the luxury brand: W Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Set in a skyscraper near the Pinheiros River in Sao Paulo’s southern business district, the new hotel consists of 179 rooms and suites, dining outlets, relaxation opportunities and plenty of fun. Having graduated from W’s previous flashy design aesthetics, the new Brazilian take on the W features a design that yields a “playful yet sophisticated environment,” according to Marriott, and combines Brazilian modernist architecture, bright colors, rich textures and cultural elements in the process.

All rooms rise from the 25th floor up and range from the entry-level Cosy rooms, starting at 226 square feet, to multiple Penthouse suites, including one with three bedrooms that’s over 1,600 square feet.

W Sao Paulo brings three new bars and restaurants to the city’s culinary scene. The 40th-floor L40 Cozinaha de Latitude offers sweeping city views and the “gastronomic traditions” of the 16 regions sitting on said parallel, with cuisine inspired by Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, China, Japan and the U.S.

Other dining experiences are Baio Cozinha Sulista, which serves new takes on the traditional meals of southern Brazil, and Yoso Bar and Café, a coffee shop by day and a Japanese-inspired bar at night.

Then you have the W classics, like the AWAY Spa, which draws inspiration and treatments from Brazil’s various biomes (think: an Amazon rainforest-infused body scrub), swimming at the WET Deck pool and working on your fitness at the TechnoGym-equipped fitness center.

If you really fall in love with the W Sao Paulo, you could even just decide to move in. The hotel boasts 216 W Residences with five various layouts and a shared indoor pool, relaxation area, co-working space and an event hall.

“W São Paulo captures the pulse of Brazil’s cultural vibrancy, blending local influences with our signature bold, distinct design,” George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader of W Hotels, said in a statement. “This opening is a testament to the brand’s commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences that push boundaries while simultaneously celebrating the essence of the destination.”
