New dates have been released for Croydon’s trauma support training courses.

More residents can take part in the council’s free accredited sessions that will help them to support people they know who have experienced trauma.

Anyone living or working in Croydon can attend the courses and learn how to spot signs of trauma in others and how it might impact on their behaviour.

The training also explores the effects of trauma on the wider community and goes through some of the coping strategies people use when they face traumatic events.

Participants will also find out where they can signpost people for further help if they need it.

Executive Mayor of Croydon, Jason Perry, said: “Hundreds of residents have already benefitted from taking part in our free trauma-informed training course.

“We hope that more people will sign up to the course which will give them more confidence to help those experiencing trauma.

“Offering people the right support at the right time can make a real difference to their lives.”

People can sign up here for online or in-person sessions during April, May and June this year.
