Morrisons is recalling certain batches of its Cumberland sausages because the product may contain “small pieces of blue plastic”.
The possible presence of small pieces of blue plastic makes the product “unsafe to eat”, the Food Standards Agency has said.
Only certain products of the sausages are being recalled.

The product being recalled is the Best 6 Thick Cumberland Sausages.
It is the 400g pack that has a use by date of May 1.
A spokesman for Morrisons said: “Morrisons is recalling the product with use by May 1 because there is a risk that some packs may contain small pieces of blue plastic.
“Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
What is a product recall?
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).
