Memories of Sketty’s community, school days, buildings and people have been uncovered in a trip down memory lane through our photo archives. They capture moments in the Swansea community will offers a snapshot of life in the area years ago.

And elsewhere on Eversley Road was Antonio Carra, behind the beloved bakery Kristy’s. Mr Carra would regularly create elaborate baked creations to help charity. Kristy’s closed in 2024 as he decided to retire.

And here’s John and Mair Williams, who were another pair of well-known community figures, outside their SuperNews newsagents.

Party In The Park at Singleton Park was legendary, with many holding fond memories of the event. Here’s two friends enjoying the music back in 2003, waving inflatable hammers.

Sketty School has always been a hive of activity, and 2002 was no different, when they had a visit from pop stars who gave special performances for the children and staff, including Emma Nelson.

Tymes 4 also once performed at the school. Here’s a picture of pupils posing for the camera with the band.
