Adam Peaty’s Strictly co-star praises ‘wonderful’ and ‘unforgettable’ wedding as he shares first look inside service
ADAM Peaty’s Strictly Come Dancing co-star Dan Walker has praised his “wonderful” and “unforgettable” wedding to Holly Ramsay.
The couple tied the knot on Saturday in Bath Abbey in front of family and A-list friends and now his pal Dan has shared a first look inside the service.
He took to his Instagram to share pictures of the Order of Service which included a beautiful hymn about marriage.
The presenter captioned the post: “We had a lovely time celebrating @adam_peaty and @hollyramsayy yesterday.
“Great wedding, top people, wonderful service, unforgettable reception, brilliant speeches and we got to sing some bangers in the church too #BeThouMyVision.”
Dan and Adam appeared on the 19th series of Strictly together in 2021, alongside Holly’s sister Tilly.
The new husband and wife met when Holly came to cheer her sister on in the audience for the BBC One show.
Proud dad Gordon praised the couple as he wrote on social media: “I’m truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son in law @adam_peaty!
“I love you so much @hollyramsayy and couldn’t be a prouder Dad xxx.”
Despite her family being present at the ceremony, only his sister Bethany attended from his side after a bitter feud saw his mum Caroline uninvited after she was left out of Holly’s hen do celebrations.
She had intended to watch the lavish ceremony unfold from the street, but we exclusively revealed she had a last minute change of heart after her husband Mark convinced her it would be “too upsetting”.
A family told The Sun: “She was saying she’d be there for sure but she now accepts it would be too sad and she doesn’t want to spoil his big day.”
The bitter feud that is thought to have begun when 59-year-old Caroline was not invited to Holly’s hen-do, which was attended by mother-of-the-bride Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham.
The pair booked out Bath Abbey, where the cost of a wedding can be around £2,500, so no one else could get hitched there on the same day. They paid, it is believed, several thousand pounds more for exclusivity.
Guests were transferred from the Abbey to the reception by minibus and the celebrations ran from 2pm to midnight.
The meal began at 4pm with prawn cocktail or Jerusalem artichoke followed by beef wellington, pan-roasted wild halibut or crispy mushroom and chestnut pithivier.
As well as a traditional wedding cake which was cut at 8pm, Adam and Holly also chose a classic tarte tatin for dessert.
A security team was on patrol during proceedings to stop people trying to take pictures.
A source added: “Holly and Adam have been meticulous in planning and it’s come together perfectly. They can’t wait to share everything with their guests.
“It’s sad for everyone involved that Adam’s parents and family members won’t be there but Adam and Holly are determined to have the best day of their lives and do not want it overshadowed.”
The couple’s gifts wish-list, meanwhile, included a £995 mahogany table, £800 chair and footstool and a £450 log storage bin.
They also requested a £430 outdoor heater and £365 mirror. Cheaper items included an £18 bowl.
